After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Vista Antispyware 2012 can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Vista Antispyware 2012 trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Vista Antispyware 2012 offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Vista Antispyware 2012 does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.

Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Vista Antispyware 2012, is nearly impossible to remove manually.

Which one? If both codes do not work, try changing system date to six days in the future. Then reboot. Then scan with anti-malware programs.
How do you change the system date on your computer? Also, I am having trouble getting anywhere with this. It keeps blocking everything. I need this off my other computer and fast. Also, I need this to be free of charge. I have no money and very important information on this computer that is infected that I need right away…its urgent. Please help!!!

did but it keeps blocking everything its on my laptop im on my desktop is there a way to download spyware removal and upload to laptop or what
I have fixed several versions of this trojan in Vista and Win 7 by starting PC in safe mode (press F8 during bootup) then selected repair (top line of the safe mode menu) folowed the windows until got window with several options, selected restore to earlier date,
Then when restored I updated malwarebytes and did full scan of PC to clear any residual files in the internet caches
All running OK afterwards
I DLed Malwarebytes, and its still scanning. I cut the Internet access off and writing from the phone. Malwarebytes currently says I have 113 infections. Does that sound like too much?
Can I just do a system restore
If anyone is still having trouble with this, I just fixed mine and can probably help you, although Graham’s method is pretty simple and effective. Just reply to my comment and I will try to help out.
The codes really worked! I used the 2233 one and it removed it from my computer
@Adam

@Davis I can’t seem to find where the Vista Antispyware 2012 files on hard disk is saved. I’ve searched everywhere and stll can’t find it. But it’s stll running in the background.
thanx man i removed this shit antispyware
I have this virus on my PC and it won’t even let me access the internet. McAfee didn’t pick it up either. How can I remove it, I read Graham;s comments but don’t understand what he means by malwarebytes ?, is this a download ?, in which case I;m stuck cos I cant download anything,
Charlotte: try fake registering the program or do system restore.
Okay, I tried setting my clock ahead by a week and shutting down. Now my computer will not boot up. Anybody else have a similar problem?
i think ive removed mine too.. i fake registered the program with the 2nd code.. and it removed and cleaned it.. does it mean it worked then? i hope it works, just to make sure im also running malwarebytes to scan pc.. thanks guys!!!
I also used the second code and followed Graham’s advice…I think I am clear. YAY Graham!!
I found that PC Tools Spyware Doctor (which you have to pay for to remove any malware) does not completely remove this. Malwarebytes, which is free, does get it all.
@Davis
@Graham
explain what is safe mode boot up safe mode menu
Frank: Reboot, at press F8. An menu will appear, choose from menu.
i can still access my py by logging on as guest how can i remove vista2012 as guest or do i have to log in as owner
@Davis
I have this problem please help my system restore was not on
The box didn’t accept that first key, but it accepted the 2nd one, but this apparently permitted it to install the malware, unfortunately. It installed something and I didn’t know what to do. So I am following all the subsequent instructions. Problems: You can’t install Spyware Doctor, or any other antivirus/antispyware program, possibly because this malware is preventing it. I got error messages for nearly every antivirus/antispyware app I tried to install and they would not install. The only ones that installed were Revo, which did not find Vista AntiSpyware 2012 so it could not remove it. Malwarebytes also installed but did not find anything; I ran all the scans. The free versions of Avira and AVG and Avast would not install because of error messages.
I was able to change the date 7 days ahead, boot, and change the date back. Then I booted in Safe Mode and installed the explorer file. The instructions say to delete any 3-letter processes or processes called ‘garbage’, but I don’t see anything like that unless this means to delete all *.exe files which I’m not going to do.
Then I ‘searched’ for Vista Antivirus 2012 files but the search didn’t find anything called Vista Antivirus. That could mean the files are gone, or more likely, they have different names or, Vista search doesn’t actually find most of the things you’re looking for. Vista has the worst search feature of any Windows operating system since Windows 95.
This has already taken all day. I will spend the rest of the day and evening trying to install a free antivirus program and free antispyware program to hopefully prevent this from happening again. I have no idea if the malware is gone or not but none of the things I have tried have found anything.
I GOT RID OF IT! Here’s what worked for me: First, I tried the “registration numbers” above. The last of the 3 (3425-814615-3990)worked. I entered them and a progress bar came up saying “Removing”. It took about 3 minutes and it was done and the pop-ups were gone. Entering the registration number didn’t actually remove the malware though because the icon was still in the system tray, so I went to System Restore and put the system back to where it was about 5 days ago. I noticed that one of the restore points was just prior to an entry called “Installed Windows Update”, so I used that because I read that this virus disguises itself as a Windows Update. When system restore was done there was no trace of the Vista Antispyware 2012 virus. GOTCHA! Hope this helps somebody else straighten out their computer. The hackers that create these viruses ought to be shot, but sometimes the hunt for them is actually fun when you finally find it and annihilate it. GOTCHA, YA S.O.B.!!!
One more note: Right now I’m going to uninstall and cancel my paid version of Norton Antivirus because it’s up to date and didn’t catch this virus before it got into my computer. I’m going to replace Norton with AVG Free version because in 5 years of using it on my other computer it’s never let me down.
Jim : I would not use AVG personally, nor Norton. Try Kaspersky or ESET instead.
it works first remove from registry in safe mode then install malwarebytes from usb run it and all good .@brittany stich
Jim,I thank you. I had alrerady paid those bandits 59.95 about 10 days ago. I have no idea how you got that code. I hope that others can find it before those crooks make a change. I then went and restored my machine to a much earlier date.
the third one worked for mine thanks
The 3rd code worked for me and all the viruses was removed! Thank you! I dont see the antispyware so I think I’m good! Thank you so much!!
Ummm…how do I get to this said Registry? Thanks.
@Jim
Where do you write the registration numbers?
@Davis
I need help with this
@Jim
Jim thank you It worked i’m restoring my comp now!!
@admin
I’m using ESET and it did not catch this..
Jill sadly, no antivirus is 100%.
@Jim
Thanks, Jim. What you did worked for me too.
I got tricked by the VISTA name and I bought the $80.00 option.
After that there was nothing, no ‘next step’ identified.
So, I called my credit card company to cancel the charge, and I found this page on my second computer… and I read fast.
I set my computer clock ahead by nine days and the I completely shut her down, perhaps I was thinking ‘reboot’.
Anyway, after all of this my computer seems to be fine.
Boy, am I glad I found this page of you all saying “Beware of VISTA AntiSpyware”!!
Thanks. I was able to remove this by running regedit and removing the entries listed in this article.
the third code worked. Thanks!
The third code worked for my comp. Thank you SO MUCH!!!YOur Awesome!!
Jim (posted on 12/5), THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!I did exactly as you suggested and no trace was found on my comp of vista spyware after restoring. Thanks again!!!
I fixed this all by myself using the recommendations above and I’m not computer savy. lol
@Davis
I could use someone’s help
Thank you guys sooo much!!! I entered the 3rd registration key and did a system restore. Saw Jims comment that it can disguise as windows update I used an older restore point. Running my Malwarebytes now but no sign of that sucker! You guys ROCK!! Thanks a million!!!
After reading Jim’s post (Dec 5, 2011) and following those directions, my computer is back to where it was. Thank you sooo much!!! I almost broke down and paid the $80.00. Awesome advice!!
I can open the System restore window. When I can click on system restore nothing pops up.
Vik
