How to remove SystemVeteran?
What is SystemVeteran?
SystemVeteran is a new rogue in the so-called WiniSoft family, which has up until now been responsible for countless rogues, most recently BlockProtector and BlockWatcher. This parasite is no different than any other rogue: it uses downloader trojans and drive-by downloads to infect the system, and relies on misleading advertising to trick users into purchasing it’s “licensed version”, which is a complete fake.
Once inside, SystemVeteran does a number of things to prevent it’s removal: it blocks legitimate security software, disables various system applications, such as System Restore, Safe Mode, Task Manager, and Registry Editor, and hijacks the browser, thus making it very difficult to download tools needed to dispose of SystemVeteran.
After doing that, SystemVeteran is free to deceive users. It does this by displaying popups, which claim the system is infected, and performing fake scans, which mark harmless files as threats. The point of all these misleading steps is to persuade the user to purchase the “licensed” version of SystemVeteran, which is a non-existent thing altogether.
This program is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it, and remove SystemVeteran immediatelly upon detection.

SystemVeteran is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only SystemVeteran can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads SystemVeteran trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, SystemVeteran offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, SystemVeteran does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SystemVeteran, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install SystemVeteran, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SystemVeteran, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
