How to remove ErrorSweeper?
What is ErrorSweeper?
ErrorSweeper is a rogue anti-spyware program released January 7, 2008. This program is a clone of RegClean – another scam released January 7. It is, to be more precise, a rogue performance optimizer – something that removes corrupt files, registry errors etc. In reality, of course, it is a simple scam. ErrorSweeper uses falsified scan reports to get you to buy the full version of the program.
ErrorSweeper must be downloaded and installed manually. When active, the program gives you the option to perform a scan, which produces a falsified and exaggerated report, in hopes of intimidating you into buying the full version, which is no more functional than the trial.
ErrorSweeper’s homepage suggests that the program was made by the same people who gave us RegClean that same day: the website’s structure is similar and both have the same feeling of randomness. It also has the same ridiculous logo, which assures us that there is no adware or spyware bundled with the trial version of ErrorSweeper, something I failed to comprehend since all it does is cause suspicion. There is no contact information here either – a clear give-away of the program’s scammy nature.
ErrorSweeper is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block errorsweeper.com using your HOSTS file. Note that rogue anti-spyware program removal tends to be a difficult task to perform.

ErrorSweeper is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only ErrorSweeper can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads ErrorSweeper trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, ErrorSweeper offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, ErrorSweeper does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as ErrorSweeper, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install ErrorSweeper, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as ErrorSweeper, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
