ClearThink - How to remove

ClearThink

ClearThink is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program) due to several malicious actions that it performs. It works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Sometimes it even gets installed onto computers without user even being aware of it. Once added, this application will display various ads on your web browser and disturb your web browsing this way. If your computer is infected with this malware, every time you start your PC, ClearThink will be automatically started. Those ads can be displayed in various forms, such as pop-ups, pop-unders or banner ads. Even though developers of this adware promise that it is a useful application that will enhance your web browsing, the truth is the opposite. This application is not going to be useful for you and it can cause some cyber security problems. This is because those ads come from the third parties and ClearThink does not hold any responsibility for the content of them. This advertising network is often used by malware designers and even scammers – that’s why we do not recommend clicking on those ads. However, if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to the third parties’ websites that may be infected by cyber criminals and this can result in your computer being infected or you getting scammed. Furthermore, ClearThink will gather your personal information, such as browsing history, search queries or IP address and transfer it to the mentioned third parties. They use this data to adjust their ads according to it and make them more relevant to your browsing habits this way. The main goal of this application is to make you click on those ads because its owners make money this way. It is not officially a dangerous virus that can cause a lot of damage itself, but it can lead you to some serious cyber security problems, therefore it needs to be removed as soon as possible.

As most other adware, ClearThink is distributed bundled with free software that can be downloaded from the Internet. I.e. when you download some piece of software from the Internet for free, there is a chance that ClearThink or other malware is bundled together with it. That being said, if you do not want to end up with ClearThink operating on your computer, you should pay attention to the installation of freebies downloaded from suspicious looking websites. Do not skip any steps and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. This will allow you to see all available options that you have on your hands. Read all terms and conditions and do not install any additional software or toolbars that are not necessary. This should help you to avoid activating malicious software. In case your computer is already infected with it and you would like to get rid of ClearThink, you should scan your computer with a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Spyhunter or malwarebytes. It will remove the virus automatically and protect your computer from similar threats in the future. If you do not want to use any additional software and would like to perform this by your own, you can do it by following our step-by-step ClearThink removal guide given below.
