ArcadeGoNetwork Ads - How to remove

ArcadeGoNetwork adware is a rogue browser extension, providing access to various online games. There are no details about the owners of this plugin, but we are guessing that they decided to conceal their identity. We have noticed many extensions/programs that have been classified as adware parasites: GamerSuperstar and Memory Game. The main feature of these tools is that they show third-party advertisements to its users. In the case of ArcadeGoNetwork adware, people have reported “Delivered by ArcadeGoNetwork” ads.

ArcadeGoNetwork browser plugin will show objectionable advertisements

Even though it is fair that programs would use advertisements as a way of supporting their sites, it all depends on the nature of the displayed advertisements. Security researchers have noticed that ArcadeGoNetwork Ads might be deceptive and contain malicious scripts (What Malvertising Is, How It Affects You and How to Stop It). Some of them could even be recommending you to install malware parasites. Immediately after installing the ArcadeGoNetwork plugin, you will notice an advertisement for an unknown program called “Search Manager”. In the future, such offer could become regular, and users will be exposed to various potentially unwanted programs (PUPs).

ArcadeGoNetwork ads

In April of 2018, the ArcadeGoNetwork adware is active in United States, China, Canada, Iran and Mexico. Many people might actually believe that installing this browser plugin will help them freely enjoy various online games. However, we claim that the risks of installing this toolbar outweigh the benefits that users receive.

In the EULA document we found on the official website of ArcadeGoNetwork, it is states that “the software allows us to display third-party advertisements, including, but not limited, to pop-up/unders, text-links, applications and/or banner advertisements on your computer based on the web content you view”. Even though the plugin claims not to collect personally-identifiable information about its users, we are certain that it will monitor your online activities and send this information to third-party advertisers (Consumers Find Personalized Ads ‘Creepy,’ But Still Want Meaningful Interactions). During our analysis, we concluded that the majority of online adverts are going to be from PopAds ad-company.

Ads that are labelled as “Delivered by ArcadeGoNetwork” are not going to be checked before being displayed to the Internet surfers. As we have mentioned, program-owners have the right the right to exchange free usage of their software for delivery of ads, but they have to make sure that users would not be put in any danger. However, according to the EULA document of this gaming plugin, “clicking on, accessing, purchasing, participating, or any other type of involvement with any third party content is your own risk and we shall have no liability whatsoever to you for any third party content”.

Therefore, even if you catch a computer virus or become a victim of a social engineering scam because of the ArcadeGoNetwork Ads, the owners of this plugin will not be held responsible. Furthermore, it is stated that third-parties, showing advertisements, can collect personal or non-personal information about users. The only way to stop this is to remove the ArcadeGoNetwork browser extension as soon as possible.

How does this ArcadeGoNetwork adware enter my computer?

Currently, the ArcadeGoNetwork plugin is being advertised in online pop-ups. You could notice a notification, stating that “Our Chrome extension gives you access to thousands of games you can play for free. Click “Add extension” to start receiving there great games now”. However, you should resist this offer and exit the displayed message. Additionally, the ArcadeGoNetwork adware can also be found in the Chrome Web Store and the official page of this gaming plugin. We have also noticed that some of the suspicious add-ons could be delivered thru bundling. Therefore, during installation of freeware, you should not agree to install any additional applications or, in this case, browser extensions.

You can stop “Delivered by ArcadeGoNetwork” ads by getting rid of plugin. Find the list of active browser extensions and permanently remove the ArcadeGoNetwork add-on. You should no longer notice any objectionable advertisements. However, it is possible that the ads you were exposed to managed to infect your computer with other types for malware. To guarantee the safety of your device, we insist you run a scan with Spyhunter.
