The “System Warning” Popup is an item of false advertising displayed by the rogue anti-spyware program System Protector. The popup reads:

System warning: Intercepting programs that may compromise your privacy and harm your sytem have been detected on your PC. Click here to remove them immediately with the latest version of System Protector.

The popup itself is not very harmful if you do not click on it, yet it is caused by Trojan therefore it is better to remove it as soon as noticed. The “System Warning” Popup only advertises a rogue antivirus called System Protector. Clicking on it would download and install the fake application automatically. System Protector would cause much more harm to your computer, such as launching itself automatically, hijacking your Internet browser, blocking your computer security programs, displaying fake notifications and even slowing down your PC significantly. On top of that it will constantly keep warning that your system is at risk because of numerous infections and other issues.

In some cases, “System Warning” popup suggests calling some number to reach Help Support and get your system fixed. You should never do that either as most likely cyber criminals will try to convince you to purchase some useless or even dangerous application. How to remove “System Warning” Popup using Windows Control Panel

Many hijackers and adware like “System Warning” Popup install some of their components as regular windows programs as well as additional software. This part of malware can be uninstalled from Control Panel. To access it, do the following.

Resetting Microsoft Edge setting (Method 1)

  • Open Microsoft Edge and click on More actions button (three dots at the top right corner of the screen), then choose Settings.

Resetting Microsoft Edge setting (Method 2)

  • Navigate to the following folder: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe Select all of the entries in this folder, right click on them and select Delete.

  • Click Start button and type in “Windows power”. Right click on the Windows PowerShell entry and choose Run as administrator.

Once you finish these steps, “System Warning” Popup should be removed from your Microsoft Edge browser.
