hijacker - How to remove? hijacker (sometimes incorrectly called virus) is a browser hijacker that can be installed to computers together with free downloads from the Internet, namely YAC – Yet Another Cleaner. This software is developed by Elex.

I do not threat YAC itself as malicious or even PUP. However, at some point this program used to change search engine to  Typically, this was done by user using YAC itself. It is also possible that some third party (unrelated) installers had set the domain to Custom homepages and custom search engines allow the program owner to make some money from the searches. However using such search engines is not safe.  For privacy reasons I recommend switching back to Google or Bing.

Our software Yet Another Cleaner is an anti-virus software, we do this product aiming at protecting users’ PC, it is not an virus as you mentioned in your articles.

I just noticed that in it you mentioned about a software called SpyHunter. So we assume that you aimed at promoting SpyHunter, but not mean to attack our product.

It has made some confusion to us,I hope you can delete the airticles as quick as possiple.

Hi. First, you should use one name and not 2 different names writing comments.
Secondly. We haven’t tested YAC itself, however, changing search providers to different service is rated as Browser hijacking and in many cases undesired by end user. This is does not depend if it is done by antivirus company or malware company, so we provide removal instructions.

I am Zane Young, also from ELEX.
I think the search changing may result from incorrect setting of users, and plz pay attention to the title in which our product is directly called VIRUS. We post again because this article does bring us a lot of troubles. We develop this program to optimize users’ PCs, but now it is described as virus. So, would you plz remove this article from your website?
