About Searchguide.level3.com browser hijacker

It operates as browser add-on that can be added to all most common web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge or even Safari. That means Apple users can get infected as well.

Once inside of your system it will change some settings on those web browsers. I.e. features as homepage or default search engine will be set to www.searchguide.level3.com. From now on, every time you open a web browser, this website will appear instead of your regular homepage.

The main goal of Searchguide.level3.com is to create an image of reliable and useful search engine so users would actually want to use it. However, this image is fake and you should avoid using it. If you try to search for something via Searchguide.level3.com you will notice a lot of sponsored results that are not relevant to your search queries, so you will waste your time this way. Moreover, those results might lead you to some unreliable websites therefore we do not recommend to click on any of them.

If you do actually click on a link sponsored by Searchguide.level3.com you will be immediately redirected to other websites that might be owned by various cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected with other viruses or if you attempt to purchase something there you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money.

Searchguide.level3.com also has some features of adware infection. It might flood your web browsers with various ads, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, banner or contextual advertisements. New tab or even window with advertisements on it can be opened at any time as well.

Usually advertisements displayed by Searchguide.level3.com appear on e-commerce websites, such as eBay or Amazon. You will be offered to purchase some particular goods at very appealing price rate. Do not fall for that trick – most of the time those offers are fake, they are just trying to win your attention and make you click on one of those ads.
