How to remove Windows Internet Booster

Windows Internet Booster is a rogue antivirus that is not worth keeping on any computer. Note that it belongs to the same FakeVimes family as Windows Daily Adviser which has been secretly infecting systems with a help of trojan horse. Of course, you can prevent Windows Internet Booster or other virus intrusion by installing both, reputable anti-virus and anti-malware, programs and constantly updating them in order to have full virus database. However, if you have already been infected by Windows Internet Booster, keep in mind that it is capable to find only invented malware and that it has an empty virus database. Most of its viruses reported are legitimate system files, so ignore this malware and remove Windows Internet Booster from your computer without any delay.

Windows Internet Booster is known to be distributed through fraudulent social engineering, fake updates or malicious downloads. As soon as it compromises its target computer, it changes some of critical values, like Registry keys and system files, and adds some Registry entries of its own. This results in making your system run malicious executables of Windows Internet Booster and launching this rogue every time PC is rebooted. In addition, this rogue starts ‘scanning’ the system for malware and additionally displays continuous adds stating that your computer has lots of signs of malware, spyware, trojans, keyloggers etc. In the meanwhile, the only real threat is the same Windows Internet Booster.

Being a scam software, this rogue displays such alerts:

Error
Keylogger activity detected. System information security is at risk.
It is recommended to activate protection and run a full system scan.

Error
Software without a digital signature detected.
Your system files are at risk. We strongly advise you to activate your protection.

Keep in mind that not only it is incapable of finding any genuine infection, it’s also useless in removing it. This program, just like any other from FakeVimes, is released for stealing users money, so never fall for purchasing its licensed version. Windows Internet Booster creates a need of its license by reporting you how many viruses are on your computer. The only wise decision you should make is to remove Windows Internet Booster from your computer. You should waste no time and run a full system scan with spyhunter or 2012 version of Spyware Doctor to get rid of this dangerous application. Note, that older versions of Spyware Doctor is blocked by Windows Internet Booster using some registry keys together with majority of legitimate antiviruses. It is extremely important to delete these malicious registry keys, as they make your PC vulnerable to further infections. If you still have problems deleting this fake antivirus, you might try to fake-register it with key 0W000-000B0-00T00-E0020.

Khaldragar : there are samples in researcher vaults. We do not distribute these links (as many visitors here are not advanced PC users). I assume, this malware is no longer distributed actively, as it is replaced by next malware in the family.
