Surfvox.com virus - How to remove

Surfvox.com is a supposed-to-be search engine, which can also be known under the name of motious.com, since it redirects to the latter URL. This website, you are redirected to, is quite different from the ordinary search engines. It has a tiny search bar and a bunch of advertisements. The search field declares that Google Search is going to be exploited to render you search results. From this rough sketch it is already clear that Surfvox.com is nothing more than a browser hijacker.

About Surfvox.com Browser Hijacker

After Surfvox.com browser hijacker has gotten installed on your computer’s system, a number of your browser settings are changed. The most noticeable ones are the alteration of your homepage, which, most probably, was your default search engine as well. Surfvox.com will also modify your browser’s DNS and Proxy settings. Surfvox.com extension is a severely annoying add-on that was designed to take over your Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or any other web browser you happen to use. It replaces your homepage and search provider without the option to change it back and interrupts your browsing activity every time you open your browser and begin searching the web. You should never trust Surfvox.com plug-in, as its primary concern is to advertise commercial websites and display ads. If you keep using Surfvox.com, you will get a list of sponsored links instead of regular search results. The creators of this hijacker advertise questionable products and services to get paid for every new click and redirect to suspicious web pages to receive income from the web traffic they accumulate. Beware that Surfvox.com virus can take you to malicious websites where you can easily get your system infected.

  1. I have tried everything including Adwcleaner but the surfvox still doesn’t get deleted. It springs up after every restart .Please help!!!

  2. This guide does not remove the problem, only covers it up. And the line “If your New Tab page is hijacked, you will have to scan with anti-malware program” is the only thing that actually helps solve the problem. Hope everyone isn’t as frustrated as I am with the whole thing.

  3. Malwarebytes Antimalware. This software is the only solution to surfvox malware.

Had a great trouble for the past 1 year in removing this virus from chrome, firefox and IE.Spyhunter could only temporarily remove it and all other methods such as registry editing, etc failed to remove it completely.

Installed malwarebytes yesterday, ran the scan for 10 minutes, and BOOM. It detected all the malwares, including surfvox and even conduit, which i had no idea was residing in my computer. Just buy the software,or if you cant afford, just torrent it.

Actually, MBAM in my experience is much worser for hijackers than other solutions (e.g. Adwcleaner, etc). However, no tool is 100%.
And people that “torrent” malware removal tools sooner or later get reinfected.
