Smart Defragmenter is another fake optimization tool, similar to System Defragmenter. Spread by trojans, it blocks execution of legitimate software programs by claiming that the disk is inaccessible and has lots of errors. This includes not only hard disk (that are “in danger”) but ram memory and registry as well. While registry fragmentation exists, it is rarely critical. And if your PC memory or HDD is corrupted, it will not be fixed by third-party software only. Thus this application is a pure scam. Smart Defragmenter claims to provide proactive data protection, which is purely a scam.
First symptom of Smart Defragmenter trojans are various system alerts :
Damaged hard drive clusters detected. Private data is at risk.
RAM memory usage is critically high. RAM memory failure.
Windows can’t find hard disk space. Hard drive error
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file … . The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware.
A critical error has occurred while indexing data stored on hard drive. System restart required.
The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.
Hard Drive not found. Missing hard drive.
Some of these alerts are purely funny, as your PC will not run without Hard drive present or that high RAM memory usage causes ram memory failure. All these alerts are fake and want to force you to pay attention to Smart defragmenters executable.
You will start getting popups while trying executing legitimate programs:
Exe file is corrupted and can’t be run. Hard drive scan required.
Scan Hard Drive
These popups will launch not each time, so you might make programs to work.
Hard drive scan will lead to fake optimizers window, where Smart Defragmenter will claim various system errors to scare you into purchasing its version with “Defrag HDD repair”. These messages might look scarry, but in fact there are no problems:
Requested registry access is not allowed. Registry defragmentation required
Read time of hard drive clusters less than 500 ms
32% of HDD space is unreadable
Bad sectors on hard drive or damaged file allocation table
GPU RAM temperature is critically high. Urgent RAM memory optimization is required to prevent system crash
Drive C initializing error
Ram Temperature is 83 C. Optimization is required for normal operation.
Hard drive does not respond to system commands
Data Safety Problem. System integrity is at risk.
Registry Error – Critical Error
All this is to convince you into paying for its full version, that is useless. They will also save your credit card details to make some purchases on their own in the future. Thus I strongly advice not to pay for Smart Defragmenter.
To remove the Smart Defragmenter, reboot into safe mode with networking, and follow this removal procedure:
1. Delete Smart Defragmenter files mentioned in files box. If you do not know where they reside, right-click on Smart Defragmenter icon and follow the path to executable. Usually you can delete all files in that folder, as it should be Temporally information folder.
2. If you are blocked from accessing these files, run task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and stop its processes first.
3. Stop mentioned files from startup list using msconfig
4. do a full system scan with spyhunter and malwarebytes These programs should remove Smart Defragmenter automatically, and detect other trojans that caused this infection
5. Run CCleaner to clean up all temporally files, which are used by this malware.

I had this virus on my comp. The executable file for the virus was 517741015.exe
Note: Spyhunter trial provides detection of parasite like Smart Defragmenter and assists in its removal for free. You can remove detected files, processes and registry entries.
This is a direct lie. You have to buy the program to get supposedly benifical results.
Spyhunter installer kills malware process for free, so malware files are not locked. It will remove rootkit if detected (though not all versions). It will also identify the files on disk, so you would have to delete it manually.
Personally, I do not know any free tool that combines all in one in such seamless way.
