EverydayMemo Virus - How to remove

EverydayMemo is not a typical computer virus that would be capable of completely taking over your system. It is a browser hijacker and instead of that, it will change some settings on the infected browser. You might think that it’s not a big deal, but the presence of EverydayMemo hijacker might result in leaked information, infiltration of other malicious software, the poor performance of your computer or much worse browsing experience.

It’s not that hard to tell if your computer has been infected with EverydayMemo. To check that you only need to open your web browser and open a new tab on it. If EverydayMemo website appears there but you haven’t set this yourself, it’s a clear sign that your computer has been infected and you should take care of that.

We are here to help you completely remove EverydayMemo infection from your system and protect it from various viruses in the future. Also, we will discuss notorious features of this unwanted application, so stay tuned.

How Your Computer Was Infected

It’s not enough to have your computer protected by regular, default anti-malware applications – you need additional software to make sure that adware or other malware won’t get inside of it. We highly suggest using some free anti-malware tools like Combo Cleaner or Malware Fighter. Those programs feature a real-time protection and can stop malicious files from entering your system on the go.

EverydayMemo Virus removal

Try to remember if you have downloaded some freeware recently. That’s might be the reason why EverydayMemo is operating on your system because the installer of this tool is often bundled with other software that is not necessarily malicious. Regular, legitimate software available online can come in one package with malware, so always pay close attention to what you are downloading.

What Harm Can EverydayMemo Cause

Usually, this virus only infects one web browser on your computer,  because it is operating as a specific browser extension. So the very first thing you need to do when you find out that your browser is infected – switch to an alternative one. You will be able to continue using your old web browser, but for obvious safety measurements, it’s better to keep away from it until the virus is removed.

Once added EverydayMemo will instantly get to work – it will change new tab page without even asking you and set it to a unique landing page. It looks like a regular search engine, but you will soon notice that it is powered by Myway. Myway is a notorious browser hijacker developed by Mindspark and you should stay away from it.

If you are going to use this web search anyway, expect to see additional advertisements and results that are not even relevant to your search queries. That’s because EverydayMemo implements sponsored results in top positions regardless of the fact they are relative to your search query or not.

That’s not it – all search queries will be collected and might be leaked to third parties, so be very careful not to reveal any of your sensitive data in there. Don’t take our word for it – just look at their Privacy Policy:
