Slick Savings is an adware program that can be installed to random computers together with other programs from the Internet. The application is responsible for displaying tons of ads with offers and discounts on the infected computer. Basically, it offers you checking some prices comparisons, for example,  when you are visiting shopping websites like Amazon, Ebay and some others. The pop ups say to be brought by Slick Savings.

You may think that it is quite nice to get some discounts or offers while shopping. However, if you actually deal with Slick Saving, you will understand how annoying it is. The program will be displaying tons of pop ups every time you browse the Internet. If you click on these messages, it will redirect you to some websites which is really annoying and also you can get infected in case it reroutes you to some malicious ones.

Slick Saving not only advertises some websites, services and products, but it also collects information about your browsing habbits, search queries and websites you are visiting. How to remove Ads by SlickSavings using Windows Control Panel

Many hijackers and adware like Slick Savings install some of their components as regular windows programs as well as additional software. This part of malware can be uninstalled from Control Panel. To access it, do the following.

  1. Start->Control Panel (older Windows) or press Windows Key->Search and enter Control Panel (Windows 8);
     
  2. Choose Uninstall Program;
     
  3. Go through a list of programs and select entries related to Ads by SlickSavings .
     
  4. Click uninstall button.
     
  5. In many cases anti-malware programs are better at detecting related parasites, thus I recommend installing Spyhunter, Malwarebytes and Stopzilla to identify other programs that might be a part of this infection.
     

This method will not remove some of browser plugins therefore proceed to the next part of the removal guide.

Removing Slick Savings from your browsers

  1. Press on the Gear icon->Manage Add-ons.
     
  2. Go through Toolbars and extensions. Remove everything related to Ads by SlickSavings and items you do not know that are made not by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Oracle or Adobe.
     
  3. Close the Options.

(Optional) Reset your browser’s settings

If you are still experiencing any issues related to Slick Savings, reset the settings of your browser to its default settings.

  1. Press on the Gear icon->Internet Options.
     
  2. Choose the Advanced tab and click on the Reset button.
     
  3. Select a Delete personal settingscheckbox and click on the Reset button.
     
  4. Click on the Close button on the confirmation box, then close your browser.
     

If you cannot reset your browser settings and the problem persists, scan your system with an anti-malware program.

  1. Click on the menu button on the top right corner of a Google Chrome window. Select “Settings”.
     
  2. Click “Extensions” on the left menu bar.
     
  3. Go through the extensions list and remove programs you do not need, especially similar to Slick Savings. Click on the trash bin icon next to Ads by SlickSavings or other add-ons you want to remove.
     
  4. Press on the “Remove” button on the Confirmation window.
     
  5. If unsure, you can disable them temporarily.
     
  6. Restart Chrome.

  1. Click on Chrome’s menu button (three horizontal lines) and select Settings.
     
  2. Scroll to the end of the page and click on the Reset settings button.

     

  3. Click on the Reset button on the confirmation box.

  1. Click on the menu button on the top right corner of a Mozilla window and select the “Add-ons” icon (or press Ctrl+Shift+A on your keyboard).
     
  2. Go through Extensions and Addons list, remove everything Slick Savings related and items you do not recognise. If you do not know the extension and it is not made by Mozilla, Google, Microsoft, Oracle or Adobe then you probably do not need it.
     

(Optional) Reset your browser’s settings

If you are still experiencing any issues related to Ads by SlickSavings, reset the settings of your browser to its default settings.

  1. Click on the menu button on the top right corner of a Mozilla Firefox window. Click on the Help button.
     
  2. Choose TroubleshootingInformation on the Help menu.
     
  3. Click on the Reset Firefox button.
     
  4. Click on the Reset Firefox button on the confirmation box. Mozilla Firefox will close and change the settings to default.
     

If you cannot reset your browser settings and the problem persists, scan your system with an anti-malware program.

  1. Click on the Safari menu.  
  2. Choose Preferences.
     
  3. Click on the Extensions Tab.
