Wizebar - How to remove

Wizebar

Wizebar is an adware which should not be installed or kept on your PC because it is worth nothing and will annoy you with various ads. Wizebar can operate on all most popular web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Ads delivered by Wizebar can be shown in various forms like coupons or deals. If it happens so that you click on one of those ads, you will be redirected to a third party website which may be infected. Therefore we recommend to stay away from such ads. Those are the main reasons why this app is listed as a PUP (potentially unwanted program). In addition to that, Wizebar can install additional adware when you click on ads displayed by it. This would bring even more troubles.

Perhaps now there is no doubt that you should avoid this malicious program. Wizebar is distributed mostly via freebies – software that can be found on the Internet for free. If you have decided to download something from a doubtful looking website, be very attentive during the installation. If possible, opt out for a custom or advanced installation mode to make sure that any additional unwanted software is not being installed. Do not skip any steps and read all terms and conditions carefully. This should prevent you from installing unwanted applications. If it is too late and your computer is already infected – try to scan your PC with some anti-malware software like Spyhunter or malwarebytes. It will detect and delete the threat automatically. In case you want to do this on your own, follow our Wizebar removal guide below.

Using Control Panel to remove the main Wizebar components and installers

  1. Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
  2. Look for Wizebar and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
  3. Close Control Panel.
