TopBuyer - How to remove

TopBuyer is yet another application, that is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program) by cyber security specialists due to several malicious actions that it performs. It is defined as a powerful tool that will save both your time and money when shopping online by providing you with various coupons, deals and commercial offers when browsing the Internet. It also works as a price comparison tool – it will display you offers with the best price rates compared to other retailers.  Moreover, TopBuyer is absolutely free application that can be installed to your computer just in a few seconds. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, the reality is actually a little bit different. Due to the fact it’s absolutely free for the users, TopBuyer owners get their money from the third parties that pay them for the opportunity to advertise using this advertising platform. This means TopBuyer is an ad-supported system, that stands as a middleman between users and advertisers. The problem is that this application does not control or moderate anyone who wants to advertise on their network. That means that various cyber criminals have access to promote their products or services through this network. That’s why we do not recommend clicking on any of those ads. If you do so, you will be immediately redirected to the third parties websites that may be infected by cyber criminals and cause some sort of harm to your computer or privacy. So as you can see, TopBuyer will save neither your time nor your money, because most of those ads are fake and even malicious. In addition to that, those ads are really annoying and will interrupt your browsing every time you turn your PC on. Ads can be displayed in a form of pop-up, pop-under, in-text or banner ads.

TopBuyer

TopBuyer is a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. It is only available on Windows, so Mac users can feel safe at least for now. If you visit their official website at www.topbuyer.info, you can see that there is no valid contact information. That means that no one holds the responsibility for what could happen because of those ads. Another unwanted attribute of TopBuyer is that it will collect your personal information, such as browsing history, IP address, Top visited sites or search queries and transfer it to the third parties. they adjust their ads according to the given information and make them more relevant and attractive to you based on your web browsing habits. The main goal of TopBuyer is to make you click on those ads, because they gain revenue by generating web traffic and collecting sales leads. Even though it is not officially a dangerous virus that can cause a lot of damage itself, you should be aware of what possible threats it brings on the table and remove this application from your computer as soon as possible.

As you can see, there is no download button at their official website. Eventually, it is confusing, users are wondering how on earth this application can be installed then? It’s plain simple – TopBuyer travels around the Internet bundled with other free software or spammy emails. I.e. when you download and install some application for free, there is a chance that this unwanted program will be installed alongside, without you even being aware of it. To avoid this happening, you should pay attention to the installation process of freebies downloaded from suspicious looking websites (it is better not to download anything from unreliable websites but sometimes you have no other choice). Do not skip any steps (don’t just click “next” and “agree” buttons all the time before reading the whole thing first) and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode as well. This will allow you to see all available options and make changes. If you have enough time, it would be wise to read all terms and conditions and privacy policy, because you can find a lot of valuable information there. During the installation process itself look for various check boxes already marked for you. Usually they are really tiny and barely visible, so pay close attention to it. Check boxes can be checked by default, so that means you give the permission to install additional unwanted applications unless you take these off. If you see that some additional software is being installed alongside and you are not sure whether it is valid or not, it would be better that you don’t allow it to be added. If it is too late and your computer is already infected, there are several ways how you can get rid of this TopBuyer virus. Probably the easiest one is to download a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Spyhunter or malwarebytes and scan computer with it. It will detect and remove the virus automatically. Moreover, it will protect your computer from similar threats in the future as well. In case you don’t feel like downloading any additional anti-virus software, you can perform this all by yourself. To remove it manually, feel free to follow our step-by-step TopBuyer removal guide given below.
