SpeedMaxPc is malicious rogue software that claims to be able to make your computer become more efficient and operate at faster speeds. It states it can optimize system processes, slow PC speed, erase browse cache, clear history, manage processes and clear junk files. This system optimizer is provided by Nubrand Software. Although what it promises sounds really tempting the truth is that cleaning of the registry is not actually needed and in many cases it might be even dangerous. The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit it may have.
Usually one installs a free version of SpeedMaxPc that can be found on its official website or many other web pages that promote the product. Once the application is started, it will scan your computer and display a list of fake registry errors as well as state that drivers need updating. SpeedMaxPc always finds what is “wrong”. It might detect thousands of threats including system problems, performance issues, privacy items, malware, and junk files. This is a psychological trick that aims to convince you into purchasing a full version of the program. Moreover, SpeedMaxPc may come bundled with and install third party applications such as adware and browser hijackers.
If you were considering whether to have SpeedMaxPc installed or purchase a complete version of it, we advice not to spend your money on an item that might cause more damage than be useful. If you already installed a free version of the program and got annoyed by the scans, alerts and constant reminders to purchase a full version, you should remove it immediately. Go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove programs -> find SpeedMaxPc on the list and uninstall it. Scan your computer using a legitimate antimalware program, for example, Spyhunter. It will detect and remove files that were not deleted manually. Moreover, if any of adware and/or browser hijackers were installed together with SpeedMaxPc, Spyhunter will remove them as well.
