M.news-page.net Adware - How to remove

If you recently noticed that your browser is regularly redirected to m.news-page.net, then chances are that your computer is infected with an adware program. It is hard to mention the exact place where the adware may be found. It may function as an independent program disguised under some legitimate software, or work as a third-party browser extension. In the worse case, the adware may secretly act in your computer through one or several associated processes (services) running stealthily in the background and regularly using m.news-page.net for redirecting to random websites.

M.news-page.net is the component of an advertising service used by many website publishers for the sole purpose of generating the revenue. Regretfully, there are cases when certain adware apps inject advertisement banners into the websites you visit without the direct consent of the website owner for the sole purpose of generating revenue.

Unveiling the danger of m.news-page.net

M.news-page.net

When m.news-page.net pops up occasionally, without permanently attacking your screen, then you probably will not think there’s any problem to be resolved. However, adware does not act like that. According to the feedback of many people, m.news-page.net pop-ups are massively attacking the majority of popular browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Opera. Point number one – the ongoing pop-up show by the aforesaid

website is a very distracting factor. You may be in the process of watching some interesting movie or playing the online game, whereas suddenly your process will be interrupted by a new browser tab randomly opening and showing m.news-page.net in the address bar. Soon the website may bring you to some other page you have never intended to visit.

Secondly, redirections by m.news-page.net are extremely dangerous. The analysis of similar pop-ups leads to the fact that they are interconnected with a lot of advertising networks that tend to promote low-quality products or services, for example:

  • misleading notifications demanding installation of fake Adobe Flash Player, Java or other dubious software;
  • fake alerts pretending to be Microsoft or Apple technical assistance services;
  • websites promoting the installation of unwanted browser extensions;
  • pages encouraging the installation of fake system optimization tools, primitive registry-cleaning apps and so on.

Most common adware installation channels

You probably wonder how exactly the adware could be injected into your computer if you have powerful security software in place. There are several factors that lead to the infected status of your device. The absence of powerful anti-virus software is the first leak through which the adware find ways to infiltrate computers. Regretfully, there are very many security products today that claim to be able to protect your system from the sneakiest malware, however, due to their outdated databases, they simply do not work as advertised.

Secondly, your personal caution matters a lot. The adware is often interconnected with various freeware installers. There are some decent websites providing people with the chance to download many decent free applications and, alternatively, there are torrent networks that offer cracked software downloads with violation of copyrights. You should definitely stay away from using P2P (peer-to-peer) services with pirated content, however, even when installing the freeware that is absolutely genuine you need to pay very close attention during its setup process. Do not allow any additional software to be installed without your permission. Always select the “Advanced” or “Custom” installation mode to avoid injection of the apps you do not need. Many of such extra programs could cause a lot of essential problems, including continuous m.news-page.net redirections.

How to remove m.news-page.net

Removing adware is a very time-consuming process in many instances. Often it is not enough simply to uninstall suspicious programs from the list of available apps. The adware may simply not be mentioned among your available software. There are some other steps you should undertake:

  • get rid of third-party browser extensions that may control your important browser settings;
  • in the browser menu, check the “Notifications” area and get rid of unwanted websites that may be authorized to display web push notifications;

Once the steps reviewed above are implemented, check how your browser works.
