MediaForce - How to remove

MediaForce

MediaForce is listed as an adware and a PUP (potentially unwanted program) due to several malicious activities that it performs. Even though developers of this application promise that it will enhance your browsing quality, this is is not true as you will be spammed with tons of annoying pop-up ads on your web browser. Once installed this adware will start to display various ads with commercial offers to buy some goods or services. You should think twice before clicking on one of those ads because at the same moment you will be redirected to third parties websites that may be malicious and do harm to your computer. Because this app is an ad-supporter, all those ads come from third parties. They make money by generating web traffic and collecting sales leads. It is a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. It is not officially a very dangerous virus, but it can lead you to some major cyber security problems, so you should definitely remove it from your computer. Furthermore, it collects your personal data, such as browsing history, search queries or IP address and transfer it to third parties. They use it to adjust they ads according to it and make them more engaging to you this way.

MediaForce is distributed bundled with other free programs that can be found on the Internet. I.e. when you download and install some software that has been downloaded from a suspicious looking website, you put yourself to risk of installing this adware as well. That being said, in order to avoid this happening, you need to be very careful during the installation of freebies. Do not skip any steps and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode to make sure you are aware of what is being installed. In case your computer is already infected with this malicious app, we highly recommend to scan it with a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Spyhunter or malwarebytes. It will remove virus from your computer for good. In case you don’t want to use any additional software to perform this action, you can simply follow our step-by-step MediaForce removal guide given below.

Using Control Panel to remove the main MediaForce components and installers

  1. Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
  2. Look for MediaForce and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related. Scanning with Anti-Malware programs like Spyhunter or Stopzilla might give a good idea of what programs you should remove from there as well.
