About GetLucky adware

GetLucky is an adware – this means that once inside it will flood your web browsers with ads in all kinds of forms, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text, banner or contextual advertisements. New tab or even window with ad on it can be opened on your web browser at any time.

We do not recommend to click on any of those ads displayed by GetLucky (even though they look very appealing) because if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that might be owned by various cyber criminals, such as hackers or scammers. This way your computer can get infected with other viruses or if you attempt to purchase something there you can even get scammed and lose your hard earned money this way.

Another unwanted attribute of GetLucky is data collection. Once inside it will collect your personal information such as browsing history, search queries, most visited sites or even your IP and email addresses. They adjust those advertisements according to collected data and make them even more relevant and attractive to you this way, so chances that you will click on one of them rise. And that’s the main goal of GetLucky because they get paid for every single click you make.

Distribution Methods of GetLucky adware

GetLucky is distributed bundled with other free applications that can be downloaded from unreliable websites – that’s why you should be extremely careful about what you download.

If you want to protect your computer from infections like this, always keep backup copy of most important files on external hard drive, keep your computer secured with trustworthy anti-malware application and pay close attention to the installation process of freeware. However, if it’s already too late and your computer is infected with GetLucky we recommend to eliminate it as soon as possible.
