CouponTime - How to remove

CouponTime promises users to provide them with various coupons, deals and commercial offers when shopping online and save their money and time this way. However, the reality is not the same as this description. Those deals and coupons displayed by CouponTime are usually fake and you should not believe them. The tool will annoy you a lot, because those advertisements appear randomly, from time to time and disturb your web browsing this way. They can be displayed in various forms, such as pop-up, pop-under, in-text or banner advertisements. A new window or tab can be opened on your web browser as well.

CouponTime works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla firefox and Internet Explorer. It is still available only on Windows operating system, so Apple users should not worry about it. Even though those advertisements look really appealing, you should not click on them. First of all, most of the time they are fake. That means you won’t get advertised offers anyway. Secondly, all those advertisements come from various third parties. Since CouponTime is completely free for the users, it gets sponsored by various third parties for displaying their advertisements on users’ web browsers. However, if it happens so that you click on one of those advertisements, you will be immediately redirected to third parties’ websites that may be infected by cyber criminals, such as scammers and hackers, so you put yourself in a danger of being infected or even scammed and losing your money.

The problem is that CouponTime does not administrate or in any other way moderate their partners, so it’s a good opportunity for cyber criminals to reach users right on their web browsers, while almost all other advertising networks ban them. That’s why CouponTime is listed as an unwanted application. Another equally (or even more) malicious attribute of this program is data collection. If you pay a visit to its official website at http://coupontime.info and take a look at the Privacy Policy, you will see it yourself. Once installed, this application will collect various information about your web browsing and interests, such as your browsing history, search queries, most visited sites, IP and email addresses or even your geographic location. Later on this information is transferred to CouponTime sponsors. They adjust their advertisements based on a given data and make them more relevant and interesting to you this way, so the chances that you will click on one of these ads rise. And it’s the main goal of CouponTime, because its owners get paid for every click you make on those ads. The tool generates web traffic and collects sales leads.

Even though it’s not a dangerous virus that can cause a lot of problems itself, it can lead you to some more severe cyber security problems, therefore it needs to be removed as soon as possible. And it’s not difficult to indicate whether your computer is infected or not – most of those advertisements displayed by CouponTime are labeled with a slogan “Ads by CouponTime” or “Brought to you by CouponTime”. So if you have noticed this, your computer is definitely infected and you should take needed actions to remove CouponTime ads right now.

CouponTime

This application is distributed using unfair distribution methods. Most commonly it comes bundled with other free software that can be downloaded from the Internet. So if you want to avoid getting infected with this type of malware, you should not download anything from websites that look unreliable.

In case you don’t have any other choice, be really careful during the installation of such a software. Do not skip any steps and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible (this will allow you to see all available options). Look for various check boxes that can be already selected for you. It would be wise to read all terms and conditions as well. In case it is too late and your computer is already infected, download a trustworthy anti-malware program, such as Spyhunter, Malwarebytes or StopZilla and scan your PC with it. It will detect and remove CouponTime automatically. If for some reason you don’t want to download any additional software, you can remove this malware manually too.
