Coupon Locker - How to remove

Coupon Locker

Coupon Locker might seem like a cool application at the first sight, but it is nothing more than an annoying adware. Developers of this program state that it will enhance your web browsing and save you both: time and money by providing useful offers and deals when shopping online. The problem is  those coupons are fake and even malicious. If your computer is infected with Coupon Locker you will probably see those ads when visiting e-commerce sites like Amazon or eBay. They offer you similar goods to purchase at a better price rate and allure users that way. It works as a browser extension and is capable of operating on all most popular web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Coupon Locker ads comes from the third parties websites. Once you click on them, you will be redirected to a website that may be infected and do harm to your computer. Coupon Locker generates web traffic and collects sales leads by making money that way. Furthermore, it collects users’ personal information such as search queries or browsing history and transfer that data to the third parties. They use it to adjust their ads and make them more engaging. This program is listed as a PUP (potentially unwanted program). If you noticed it on your computer, you should take needed actions to get rid of it.

Coupon Locker, as most of adware, is distributed via free software. It is bundled with freebies, so when you download and install some free software, there is a chance that Coupon Locker got installed as well. To avoid this happening, you should pay attention to the installation process of free software, especially if it was downloaded from suspicious looking websites. Do not skip any steps and make sure you opt out for a custom or advanced install modes. Read all terms and conditions on the installation wizard and don’t allow the installation of additional software that you are not aware of. In case your computer is already infected, scan it with an anti-malware like Spyhunter or malwarebytes. This will solve the problem automatically.
