Browser Guardian - How to remove

Browser Guardian

Browser Guardian is another adware that infiltrates into a system as a browser add-on. It can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Once installed, this malicious program will display tons of pop-up ads. If you click on one of them, you will be immediately redirected to a third party website, which may be infected and do harm to your computer. Even though developers of Browser Guardian promise that it will defend your computer from various viruses hided in malicious websites, it is not true. This program is malicious itself and will track your browsing activities, such as search queries or top visited sites. This information can be handed to third parties later on. Browser Guardian can be detected by most anti-malware programs. If you noticed that your computer is infected with this adware, wait no longer and uninstall it.

It is not a virus and you should not be too scared, but a lot of people may think that way because it is distributed bundled to other free software. Because this program travels bundled with freebies, in order to avoid it, you should pay attention to installation process of such software. Do not skip any steps in any cases and read terms and conditions. If possible – opt out for a custom or advanced install mode and make sure you are not installing Browser Guardian alongside. Your computer is already infected with Browser Guardian and you are tired of its’ activities behind your back? Use a trustworthy anti-malware program like Spyhunter, malwarebytes and remove it immediately. If you prefer to remove it by yourself, you can always follow our Browser Guardian removal guide.

Using Control Panel to remove the main Browser Guardian components and installers

  1. Go to Control Panel. On Windows XP/Vista/7 open Start -> Control Panel , Add/Remove Programs or Uninstall . On Windows 8 enter Control Panel in the search box, then look for Uninstall a program. You may need to confirm that you are the administrator on this PC, in both cases.
  2. Look for Browser Guardian and /or similar looking items on the list of programs. By default, I recommend removing Yontoo, WebCake, anything “savings” or “coupon” related.
