Bizer Ransomware Virus - How to remove

Bizer ransomware virus is a new player in the game, but it’s not completely new –  the code of this infection is based on the notorious Dharma ransomware virus. There are rumors that Bizer virus is just a new version of Dharma, but there is no clear evidence that developers of those two ransomware infections are somehow connected.

However, if this lethal infection finds a way to infect your computer, you are going to have some serious problems. As typical ransomware, Bizer is going to lock up all of your files, then ask for a ransom in order to unlock them – that’s why it is called ransomware. The technology used to lock personal files is called encryption – cybercriminals employ specific, strong encryption algorithm that changes the structure of your files. After that, you won’t be able to use those files anymore.

In case your computer is infected with Bizer right, you are probably thinking about paying the ransom because it seems like there is no other way to retrieve your personal files. Luckily, we can offer you a better solution – there are special methods that can be used to unlock files affected by Bizer ransomware and completely remove the infection from your system. So just keep reading the article and learn how to do that on your own.

Bizer Ransomware Features

Bizer Ransomware Virus removal

Bizer is rather a common ransomware infection – it won’t impress you if you have dealt with ransomware infections in the past. First of all, once inside of your computer, it will scan your hard drive for files that can be encrypted. Unfortunately, Bizer is capable of encrypting all sorts of personal files, including the most popular ones. That means your files like photos, text documents, images and so on, will be detected and encrypted.

During the encryption, Bizer ransomware will add “.bizer” extension to the end of all encrypted files. From that moment, you won’t be able to open or use those files anymore. For instance, if you had a file named “picture.jpg”, now it will look like “picture.jpg.bizer”. Also, it is impossible not to notice that your computer has been affected by Bizer virus because they will drop “FILES ENCRYPTED.txt” file on your desktop and automatically start a process named “Hsipmul” that will execute a pop-up window with a ransom note. It goes like this:

All your files have been encrypted!
All your files have been encrypted due to a security problem with your PC. If you want to restore them, write us to the e-mail [email protected]
Write this ID in the title of your message 1E857D00
In case of no answer in 24 hours write us to theese e-mails:[email protected]
You have to pay for decryption in Bitcoins. The price depends on how fast you write to us. After payment we will send you the decryption tool that will decrypt all your files.
Free decryption as guarantee
Before paying you can send us up to 1 file for free decryption. The total size of files must be less than 1Mb (non archived), and files should not contain valuable information. (databases, backups, large excel sheets, etc.)
How to obtain Bitcoins
The easiest way to buy bitcoins is LocalBitcoins site. You have to register, click ‘Buy bitcoins’, and select the seller by payment method and price.

Attention!
Do not rename encrypted files.
Do not try to decrypt your data using third party software, it may cause permanent data loss.
Decryption of your files with the help of third parties may cause increased price (they add their fee to our) or you can become a victim of a scam.

“FILES ENCRYPTED.txt” file contains this text:

all your data has been locked us
You want to return?
write email [email protected]

Long story short, developers of Bizer virus want you to contact them at [email protected], so they could provide you with further instructions on how to pay the ransom. Also, you are encouraged to send one encrypted file, so they could decrypt it and send it back to you as a proof that they have a working technology to solve your files. This is just as simple ’social trick and you should not fall for it.

It is not known how much you will be asked to pay, but it’s clear that you will have to do that using cryptocurrencies. However, we do not recommend to do that or even contact them by email – it might be dangerous. Even if the amount of money you will be asked to pay is relatively low, it’s not worth it. First of all, cyber criminals can fool you and simply ignore your request after the ransom is paid. Secondly, you would support cyber criminals by doing this and that’s not a good thing to do.

How To Eliminate Bizer

We have analyzed tons of various ransomware infections, such as Cryptre virusJemd cryptovirus, or Mercury, and they all are very similar to each other. Also, removal procedures for those viruses are very similar. That makes it a little bit easier to provide you with removal instructions of Bizer virus.

First of all, you need to eliminate Bizer itself and then move on to decrypting your personal files. To do that, you should scan your system with Spyhunter. Either one of those programs should detect and remove Bizer in no time.

Unfortunately, that’s not enough to get your files back. To do that, you have a couple of options. First, you can perform a system restore. In case it turns out to be ineffective in your case, you can use some free ’file from the Internet. Also, feel free to ask us a question in the comments section below if you are having any problems regarding this infection or the removal process.

Step 2. Complete removal of Bizer Ransomware Virus

After restoring your system, it is recommended to scan your computer with an anti-malware program, like Spyhunter and remove all malicious files related to Bizer Ransomware Virus. You can check other tools here.

Step 3. Restore Bizer Ransomware Virus affected files using Shadow Volume Copies

If you do not use System Restore option on your operating system, there is a chance to use shadow copy snapshots. They store copies of your files that point of time when the system restore snapshot was created. Usually Bizer Ransomware Virus tries to delete all possible Shadow Volume Copies, so this methods may not work on all computers. However, it may fail to do so. Shadow Volume Copies are only available with Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. There are two ways to retrieve your files via Shadow Volume Copy. You can do it using native Windows Previous Versions or via Shadow Explorer. a) Native Windows Previous Versions Right-click on an encrypted file and select PropertiesPrevious versions tab. Now you will see all available copies of that particular file and the time when it was stored in a Shadow Volume Copy. Choose the version of the file you want to retrieve and click Copy if you want to save it to some directory of your own, or Restore if you want to replace existing, encrypted file. If you want to see the content of file first, just click Open.
Previous version
b) Shadow Explorer It is a program that can be found online for free. You can download either a full or a portable version of Shadow Explorer. Open the program. On the left top corner select the drive where the file you are looking for is a stored. You will see all folders on that drive. To retrieve a whole folder, right-click on it and select “Export”. Then choose where you want it to be stored.

Step 4. Use Data Recovery programs to recover Bizer Ransomware Virus encrypted files

There are several data recovery programs that might recover encrypted files as well. This does not work in all cases but you can try this:
  • We suggest using another PC and connect the infected hard drive as slave. It is still possible to do this on infected PC though.
  • Download a data recovery program.
  • Install and scan for recently deleted files. Data Recovery Pro
Note: In many cases it is impossible to restore data files affected by modern ransomware. Thus I recommend using decent cloud backup software as precaution. We recommend checking out Carbonite, BackBlaze, CrashPlan or Mozy Home.
