About Ad-type.google browser hijacker

This infection is very comprehensive because it can infect Windows computers, Apple products or even mobile devices running on Android. If your system gets infected with Ad-type.google, you will experience consequences cause by it on all of your web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Safari.

If your computer is infected with Ad-type.google, every time you click somewhere on a page with http:// and not https:// a new tab will be opened automatically. New tab usually redirects users to Ad-type-google.com website or some complex and strange domain name looking something like this – http://lopsxqvibncpktmtmodesfpeqjtxidodelulsnlh.com. New tad usually is completely blank with only one floating advertisement (see the picture below).

So the main purpose of this virus is to generate traffic to third parties websites and make money this way. It’s dangerous and annoying for users.

If you have already completed our manual removal process and scanned your computer with Spyhunter but those tabs are still opened overtime you visit a non-https:// website, here are several other things you might want to try:

  • Make sure that software related to your web browsers are up to date. For instance, update your Java and don’t forget to remove the old version. Also update your web browsers because those updates might include fix to this problem.
  •  Reset your browsers. Some leftovers of the virus might be still stuck on your web browsers, so reseting them is a good idea.
  • Reset your Internet router. It’s not enough to simply turn off and turn on your router to reset it. Look for special reset button on your device.

If you have done all those things mentioned above but redirects are still happening to you, try to re-install your web browsers. Don’t forget to save all your bookmarks and other important information first because it can be lost.
