How to Access Safe Mode on Android OS

However, in order to successfully launch and use anti-malware or anti-virus software on a phone or tablet you should run it in a safe mode. The problem is that safe mode can be accessed differently on different devices and a lot of users are confused how to do that. To help you out we have developed a tutorial that will teach you how to access safe mode on most popular smartphones.

Safe mode on Samsung smartphones

Samsung Galaxy S3

To access safe mode on Samsung Galaxy S3 you should turn on or reboot your phone and keep pressing home button. Keep pressing until your phone is turned on and on the left bottom corner of the screen you should see “Safe Mode” watermark. That means you successfully entered safe mode and can run anti-malware application.

Samsung Galaxy S4

To access safe mode on Samsung Galaxy S4 you simply have to hold power button (on the right edge of your phone) and list of available selections will appear on your screen. Select “Restart in Safe Mode” and in approximately 45 seconds from that moment your phone will be running in safe mode.

Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy S6

To access safe mode on Samsung Galaxy S5 or S6 you need to turn off your phone and turn in it on again. When turning on, Samsung logo will appear on the screen and from that moment you need to press and hold volume down button for several seconds. If you access safe mode successfully on the left bottom corner of the screen you should see “Safe Mode” watermark.

Safe mode on Sony smartphones

Sony Z1

To access safe mode on Sony Z1 you need to press power off button and press and hold option “Power Off” on your screen. After several seconds you will see message “Reboot to safe mode” – click “OK”. Now your phone will restart into safe mode.

Sony Z2

To access safe mode on Sony Z2 you need to turn off your phone and turn in it on again. When turning on, Sony logo will appear on the screen and from that moment you need to press and hold volume down button for several seconds. If you access safe mode successfully on the left bottom corner of the screen you should see “Safe Mode” watermark.

Sony Z3

To access safe mode on Sony Z3 you need to press power off button and press and hold option “Power Off” on your screen. After several seconds you will see message “Reboot to safe mode” – click “OK”. Now your phone will restart into safe mode.

Safe mode on Lg smartphones

To access safe mode on Lg smartphone you need to turn off your phone and turn in it on again. When turning on, LG logo will appear on the screen and from that moment you need to press and hold volume down button for several seconds. If you access safe mode successfully on the left bottom corner of the screen you should see “Safe Mode” watermark.

Safe mode on HTC smartphones

HTC One M8

To access safe mode on HTC One M8 smartphone you need to turn off your phone and turn in it on again. When turning on, HTC logo will appear on the screen and from that moment you need to press and hold volume down button for several seconds. If you access safe mode successfully on the left bottom corner of the screen you should see “Safe Mode” watermark.

HTC One M9

To access safe mode on HTC One M9 you need to press power off button and press and hold option “Power Off” on your screen. After several seconds you will see message “Reboot to safe mode” – click “OK”. Now your phone will restart into safe mode.

Safe mode on Huawei smartphones

To access safe mode on Huawei smartphone you need to press power off button and press and hold option “Power Off” on your screen. After several seconds you will see message “Reboot to safe mode” – click “OK”. Now your phone will restart into safe mode.
