XP Anti-Spyware - How to remove

XP Anti-Spyware

XP Anti-Spyware 2011 is a fake anti-spyware program which was let into the wild for making you tricked into purchasing its license. However, this malware is an ultimately fraudulent money-hunter which should be removed as soon as you notice its license. It hails from a huge family of malwares that change their names according to OS found and  infects only Windows XP OS running machines. As a rule, you should ignore its alerts and get rid of XP Anti-Spyware because it has no virus removal engine. It may also use other names but the same GUI in its alerts and scanners, so be aware about this. Rely on a reputable anti-spyware, like spyhunter or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to get rid of XP Anti-Spyware and any other cyber threat. To avoid them and their unexpected appearance, you should purchase the ‘full’ version which provides a real time protection.

XP Antispyware basically employs trojans to get inside one’s Operating System and mess it up afterwards. This program will do its best in trying to make you believe that you need the registered its version in order to defend the compromised computer against malicious programs out there. The first its appearance will be just after its secret installation. XP Anti-Spyware 2011 may also reach your computer with a help of browser hijackers that start redirecting its victims and then offer to install ‘free’ version of this scam. XP Anti-Spyware is modified to launch as soon as you reboot your computer and after that it will start scanning your computer and reporting numerous viruses detected. Of course, these detections are invented because that XP Anti-Spyware virus has empty corresponding antivirus database, which testifies nothing. Here are examples of its alerts:

System danger!
Your system security is in danger. Privacy threats detected. Spyware, keyloggers or Trojans may be working the background right now. Perform an in-depth scan and removal now, click here.

System Hijack!
System security threat was detected. Viruses and/or spyware may be damaging your system now. Prevent infection and data loss or stealing by running a free security scan.

Stealth intrusion!
Infection detected in the background. Your computer is now attacked by spyware and rogue software. Eliminate the infection safely, perform a security scan and deletion now.

Keep in mind that XP Anti-Spyware is not created for protecting you PC. When it scans your system, it returns deliberately misleading results that has nothing common you’re your computer’s situation. All its alerts should be ignored because that some of them may report completely legitimate files that may lead your computer into damage. So, scanners and detection alerts of XP Anti-Spyware are nothing but pre-designed messages used for making you scared. Do not be fooled and pushed into purchasing XP Anti-Spyware because it may let more viruses inside your machine. In addition, it’s worth mentioning that XP Anti-Spyware 2011 slows down the compromised system and also causes internet connection troubles and browser redirections. Remove this malicious program by  scanning your computer with a legitimate antispyware program, such as spyhunter or similar. Press start->run and enter anti-malware program URL like https://www.2-viruses.com/downloads/spyhunter-i.exe . Press continue unprotected and the download will start even if you can’t navigate anywhere. Rename the executable to .com, or you will not be able to launch it as well. Once you launch spyhunter, the malware process will close and you will be able to fully scan your system or delete its files manually.

  1. This article is no help at all. Even though I have Spyware Doctor and all of the other recommended spywares installed and run them weekly, now that this is in my system I *can’t* run them to get rid of the system. You people obviously didn’t think your answer through.

  2. Read the guide carefully, spearcarrier. Use code to fake-register xp anti-spyware, reboot into safe mode with networking and try launching tools from there.

  3. i just entered the key u mentioned it has stopped giving fake messages and even turned on the firewall…but still i m trying to remove it…

  4. i just got rid of xp antispyware by doin ths small stuff….
first of all download superantispyware free version….update it..restart ur computer…press f8 continuosly and a screen would appear…by movin arrow keys select safemode with networking….then a tab would appear click yes…run superantispyware…run full scan..reboot…I hope this works because it worked on my pc

  5. I got suckered into to this hackware…they have since siphoned $79.95 out of my credit account as I foolishly took the bait. The are registered as “Albinosdefender. com Baku” under transaction description…Is there any recourse to get my money back that anyone knows of?

Since the transaction there doesn’t seem to be any sign of them or their icons on my computer anymore.

  6. I found that by entering in the registration code given above & then running the scan, all that is happening is you are stopping the pop ups from coming up AND the program is no longer recognizing itself as a problem.

You are still, however, UNABLE to open any other anti-malware programs (at least not malware bytes) even after you have “cleaned” your computer. You still have an icon on the lower right corner (notification area) that looks a little like a 4 color shield.

If anybody knows of a way to COMPLETELY remove this w/o a full system reinstall, please post it.

  7. I’m using this site on my phone sense my laptop has been taken over by XP Anti-spyware. It will not let me open this page on laptop so I am not able to download Spyware doctor. And can I have step by step instructions on how to get rid of this virus? I’ve read the article, and comments but I still don’t completely understand.

  8. Jason’s awesome :
Create new user account for your win xp.
Under that account you can login and download
    Hope it helps
    Good luck!

  9. Where do the people live that started this? I want to find them and hurt them. I’m sick and tired of all these viruses. I’m going to hack into a Drone carring a Hellfire missile and send them a message. Understand?

  10. spyware doctor won’t do anything either.

it requires you to purchase the full version before it will remove anything.

  11. BigRed: SD displays exact and correct path to malware files and registry entries. If you do not want to get full version, delete the files manually. Alternatively, use other malware removal tools

  12. Xp anti-spyware doesn’t let me go on the Internet everytime I click on it it says firefox alert visiting this site may pose a security threat to your system and I can’t go on I’m on my ipod right now

  13. All you need is to open command prompt. In command prompt, go to directory where you have the malware/spyware program and launch it. You can also stop xp antimalware in task manager (yyo.exe)

  14. I really would like to know if anyone has been able to find a way to get their money back? I have been trying to contact someone… anyone at this point to help me get that 79.95 back.

  15. Marie : Try contacting your bank, not the scammers directly. IF it was credit card, you have a chance to recover money.

  16. I, too, was scammed into this. I contacted my credit card company. They set aside that amount as in dispute (I don’t have to pay or pay any finance/interest charges). They assure me it will be removed in 1-2 billing cycles.

  17. @Marie
On any credit card transaction you have up to 6 months to dispute it. Explain it was an internet scam and you will get your money back.

  18. I got this fraken thing twice in a month! The first time, it got into my system so bad I couldn’t access any of my files. My IT department replaced my laptop. Now with a new laptop, I’ve been revisted by the damned thing again! I was able to get the free spybot downloaded to my computer this time, ran the scan, and I was able to get the thing off of my computer.

My ‘non work’ sites are limited to email and Pandora. I have never had a problem like this with my home computer and do much more surfing there… any idea why I’ve gotten it twice on my work computers?

  19. Sari:
It might be an infected advertisement, or a trojan downloader that is still active on your PC . I would recommend using something with better real time protection than Spybot’s. Whatever you choose to do, rescan with other anti-malware applications as well.

  20. I too got hit by this Malware, and someone posted on how to get rid of it and it worked !!! You reboot your computer into safe mode after turning on by continually pressing F8, then working in safe mode, you want to choose a restore point from System Restore, before your computer was Infected…..don’t try and do anything else while your computer is restoring itself and do not interrupt the process! It may take a little longer than usual, but let the computer do it’s job and when it’s through, it will reboot in normal mode. And that’s it!!!! I was so happy to be rid of those popup warnings!!! I wish I knew who it was on here that wrote what I read on how to get rid of it, because I would like to personally thank him or her, I just can’t find it!!!!
