How to remove WiniShield?

What is WiniShield?

WiniShield is clone of rogue spyware WiniFighter. An useless tool that pretends to detects various security risks without actual scanning your PC. Although the scan launches after installation, its results are fake. Random and useful files are named as infected and dangerous by WiniShield. Afterwards you will be given an option to remove them, however for that you must pay and obtain a WiniShield license. After you pay, you will not obtain the license or it will not be working and you will not hear from its support team ever again. You will be left with popups of this useless Winishield tool and its popups.

It is noted, that WiniShield is spread with help of trojans that infect your PC’s through bundled downloads or through computer vulnerabilities. First sign of this infection is fake windows security center recommending this Wini Shield application, or various popups claiming about risks and attacks. This means you already got parasite problem and you need to clean your PC and patch existing security zones. Although this is best done with reputable security software like Spyware Doctor, you can do this with manual instructions bellow.

Winishield domain, winishield.com is just another generic rogue website with screenshots produced prior creating the skin or even the name winishield. This website would suit any rogue of this family with some minor changes, and no real security software would be so poorly presented. Even the title of the main page has spelling errors. Nothing strange, considered that winishield.com is hosted in Ukraine and skinned there as well, probably.

Winishield uses safebillsolution.com for billing, which has nothing common with safe billing but is a rogue payment gateway. Your credit card details are not safe, and I would recommend contacting your bank if you paid for this software. These crooks will not shun from selling your CC details further and you will see much more charges than outrageous 50 bucks WiniShield supposedly costs. So I suggest removing this parasite as soon as possible.

It is impossible to list all file names and locations of modern parasites. You can identify remaining parasites, other WiniShield infected files and get help in WiniShield removal by using free Spyware Doctor scanner. It comes with free real-time protection module that helps preventing WiniShield and similar threats.

WiniShield is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only WiniShield can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads WiniShield trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, WiniShield offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, WiniShield does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.

Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as WiniShield, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install WiniShield, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.

Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as WiniShield, is nearly impossible to remove manually.

I have been plagued with the WINISHIELD virus for past week. I bought Spyware Doctor (it did not correct problem) . Norton wanted to charge me $99.00 over and above my contract price. I told them to shove it!!

Today it started all over again. I do not know what I am doing with computers so I ended up using the mouse and clicking on the bottom task bar and opened PROPERTIES. Somehow I got into WINDOWS TASK MASTER and deleted some files and I seemed to correct my WINISHIELD problem.

I DID NOT go into the REGISTRY files

    Henry,
Have you updated spyware doctor? There might be an update for Trojans coming with Winishield, they re-download the infection once fixed. Check for update from spyware doctor, or try if combo of several anti-viruses will work. You should try malwarebytes anti-malware (www.malwarebytes.org ) they use a bit different approach, it works quite well together with spyware doctor.
