Windows Restore - How to remove

Windows Restore

Windows Restore has been announced by computer experts to be another fraudulent application, fake computer analysis program, which must be eliminated just like any other malware. Though it may use some tricks for making you think that it is legitimate, like Critical Error alerts or other, Windows Restore tries only to rip users off. It tells for the user that his computer has numerous problems with hard disk but the licensed version will fix his machine. In fact, Windows Restore just like earlier released Windows Repair has no powers to eliminate any kind of hard drive error. Even more, it ‘detects’ invented files that are usually dropped just after its secret infiltration. So, have no doubts that you must remove Windows Restore. Please follow our removal guide written below and always protect yourself by installing ‘licensed’ anti-spyware’s version. This will give you real time protection.

Windows Restore infiltrates targeted computers with a help of Trojans. It won’t let you know when it intends to access your computer but always looks for security vulnerabilities to get inside. Besides, you may get infected with Windows Restore after you install fake video codecs for example, that are foolishly required for watching videos online. Additional activity of Windows Restore stays the same just like any other cyber threats that have been found earlier: malware starts displaying deceitful popup ads, alerts and scanners, besides, it tends to disable users from the Internet. It can be easily said that the basic intension behind all these symptoms is to make users believe that they have issues with their hard drive:

System Restore
The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.

Critical Error!
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file System32496A8300. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware.

Critical Error
Windows can’t find hard disk space. Hard drive error

Critical Error
Hard Drive not found. Missing hard drive.

After making them scared about detections, Windows Restore offers for its victims to purchase its license. However, there should be no comments about this offer: malware is designed to steal users’ money and that’s all. Keep in mind that Windows Restore is a fake defragmenter and runs only fake scanners. They are expected to brainwash you into believing your system is at risk. Please, remove Windows Restore and never purchase its licensed copy. This is nothing but a big trap, so please do not fall into it. While trying to uninstall Windows Restore, you should firstly reboot your PC into safe mode with networking. Additionally, launch task manager and kill its executables, in most cases having random names. Finally, run updated spyhunter and make sure that all Windows Restore files have been eliminated.

3. To kill Windows Restore processes running in the background, use Process explorer or launch task manager.  If you stop processes manually, do not forget to fix registry after the removal. Affected registry keys are listed below.

4. Finally, download and do scan with spyhunter, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Hitman Pro or other decent anti-malware. Reboot your PC and scan again to make that all trojans are gone.

  1. Thank you so much! I disabled my anti-virus and popup blocker for only 3 mins and thats all it took. When I closed the browser I was working in, behind it I found a popup that wouldn’t close. As soon as I clicked it any where but the upper right corner it auto-installed the rouge app and well you know how the rest goes. Thank you again for publishing the Manuel removal guide for this rouge app. with out it, I would have had to spend far more time diagnostically determining exactly witch registry entries to change or remove.

PS. The only advise I could think of to include here about improving the sites user friendly-ness is: perhaps if its possible, be more specific as to whether or not to change the registry value or delete it completely.

  2. I got this corruptiable tojan. But I was smarter then it. I quickly downloaded “Microsoft Security Essentials” a FREE cleaner and it removed it from my computer. But it left its mark and I am still having to fix the damage it did. It makes it look like all your files and photos have been delete, but they are not. They are still there on your computer all safe, just invisiable. That is right, if just causes all your files to go invisable. If you go to your control panel and click on “File Options” go to the “View” tab click the “show hidden flies and folders”. That was important to me. I still have to fix the desktop backgroung, lost and won’t function and all my programs don’t show up in the “Start” “All Programs” it shows as empty. and all my favoriates are invisable, but there. The way you know they are still there is try to create a new folder that was in your “My Documents”, if it says, ” files already exsists, then you know they are just invisable. Anyone have help for me to fix desktop background and “All Programs” to view?

  3. Eve You just saved my life. All my icons went missing and I had no idea what to do. I still have the same problem with favorites and nothing showing under all programs. Hope someone can answer that one. Thanks for the tip!

  4. Eve I did figure out the favorites thing. Under documents and settings your favorites shoudl be showing now. Left click on it and go to properties. Uncheck read only and hidden. It will ask if it’s for all subfiles and I said yes. Still have no idea on the program problem though.

  9. Thanks for the post. It saved me several hours of work and a possible reload of the operating system. Keep up the good work!

  10. Eve Richmond I found the all programs are not showing because they are still hidden. If you right click the start menu and open the folder you can right click it and un hide the whole folder. Once that is done your programs should now be visible on your start bar.

    Hope that helps!

    Joe
