How to remove W32.Blaster.Worm?
What is W32.Blaster.Worm?
The W32.Blaster.Worm is a worm which spreads over the network mainly on the Internet. He uses for this purpose the so-called weak spot DCOM RPC. The W32.Blaster.Worm files itself in the system directory (standard: C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\System32) under the name MSBLAST.EXE. Because of the change in the registration this file runs on every start of the computer. W32.Blaster.Worm attempts to perform a Denial of Service (DoS) on the Microsoft Windows Update Web server (windowsupdate.com) that tries to prevent the user from applying a patch on the computer against the DCOM RPC vulnerability.

In your case W32 Blaster.Worm is fake infection probably. Get a good antivirus/antispyware, and not a “virus protector” or security central/ which is scam. I would recommend scanning with Spyware Doctor.
Hi, my personal computer has been infected with the W32/Blaster.worm and I have no way of accessing the internet because of it so I can’t download any removal software. Is there a way to remove it without the access or do I need to take it to a professional to remove? Thank you.
@Sherilyn Froehlich
I have the same problem. I can’t access any applications, I get a message everything is infected. How can I kill this process manually? What happens if I shut down my PC – will I be able to start it again?
Shir: Look up more info by the name of antivirus it advertises. W32.Blaster is used by quite a lot of fake antiviruses and removal instructions might differ
I cannot remove the blaster worm. Cannot go online, cannot go to Task manager to see blaster.exe, I am stuck. Help please
Ted: download process explorer or another PC, and move it to infected PC through USB. Launch it and see what processes are running from %TEMP or %Application Data. Stop them.
