i think i also got the vista antivirus 2010 software in my system for a year before it wen bezerk and blocked internet applications. did try to purchase the correction software, the company never sent confirmation email or download. i do have a charge to my credit card and a merchant registered as alpha defender baku. cant get the merchant number from the credit card company or file dispute so i contacted the anti-fraud group at canadian consumer affairs and am filing a complaint based on credit card charges and repair bills to remove vista antivirus 2010. if you do encounter this pop up program get the web address for the company and report it to the government agency for further investigation. dont know if we can get an address since the whole harddrive has been reformatted now, but have the credit card charges to prove it!

My laptop was infected with the Vista Antivirus 2010 bug. Following much kicking, screaming, hair pulling and whining, I rebooted in safe mode. Managed to run system restore “as administrator” (right-click option), then ran my own antivirus (CA) scan and scanned with Windows Defender as well. COmputer seems to be functioning normally now (fingers crossed).
Good luck to all you victims out there! Are the FBI anti-computer fraud folks doing anything about this?

@Hacker’s Hi. I had the problem after deleting the program, too. Don't worry, all you have to do is right click your icons, and you'll see an option that says start. Click that and it should open. If that doesn't work, just create a new profile. It'll be able to open them.

Hacker’s The problem with Malwarebytes is that it does not offer real time protection. As lots of parasites try to block mbam from launching, relying on occasional scans with Malwarebytes is a bad practice. Either one has a anti-spyware with real time protection or his/her PC is totally unprotected.

this 2010 was a tough one. I was determined to get rid of it using free programs. Malwarebytes was my first choice but 2010 would not let me install the program. Smart. I looked for a solution to that problem online. Older post said rename the the bam File (that’s the start up file for malwarebytes) that did not work. So needed another FREE program 2010 did not know about. Went to download.com and used ” a-squared free” malware removal program.
It loaded and updated so I ran it . It found lots of problems on the PC. It found the 2010 malware and labeled as a high threat. It got rid of the 2010 malware. Great.

but after reboot the laptop no longer open any EXE files. That means no program would open since every program starts with a EXE file to open. Made the laptop useless. Now I have no idea if a-square free messed with my registry or if 2010 took a finale parting shot and disabled open EXE files.
There are lots of payed programs saying they can fix this. But I’m cheap so I decided to restore the laptop to the latest know working condition in the restore menu.
That worked and the 2010 did not come back with the restore.
problem solved and NO money changed hands.

Malwarebytes loaded after that and would recommend to any one to load the free version and run it often.

the worst part is that it deleted itself so it opened my computer open even more for viruses… this is the first time i couldnt stop a virus attack on my computer

i got hit by this the other day and they got my money cuz i had accidently put my card number onto my computer for walmart… it got hacked and now im owning the bank money AND the vista got put onto my computer sooo this hsas really jacked me up

Hi can anyone please help, I have this Antivirus Vista 2010, I’ve looked into it and found out what I can but I only know the basics + on PCs,I really need some proper help to get rid of it, as I really don’t understand all the technical jargon. Can anyone put it into understable english for me and talk me through what I need to do? I don’t know where I need to type all these codes and stuff. Please, please help asap!!! Dani

YEA this was ANNOYING and I could not figure out how to prevent it from getting my money, so I paid it, closed my card and once I got control of my computer again, i uninstalled it and installed Microsoft security Essentials cause whatever I had on my pc didn’t work. There is limiited information on this company, you also can’t trace them to get your money back. I did not have control of my computer at all and could not find my upgrade CD, so I just went ahead and paid it, and eventuallly got it removed. I did get my money back from my bank, not the company. I paid with my Visa card so hopefully VISA will look inot this. I hope they can stop these people and shut them down for good.
