How to remove VirusRay?
What is VirusRay?
VirusRay (a.k.a VirusRay 3.8) is a clone of an infamous antispyware tool Antivirgear. VirusRay is a fake anti-spyware program that gives false reports of errors and infections on the computer. It may be installed manually, although more often it is downloaded and installed silently by Trojan.Zlob that impersonates audio or video codecs that you are required to install, while downloading and installing VirusRay instead.
After the installation VirusRay automatically starts and scans the computer. When done scanning, VirusRay will kindly inform you, that it found Trojans on your computer, which are the actual ones that were used to install it in the first place. In order to remove those Trojans you will be required to purchase the full version of the software. Do not fall for that!
VirusRay is hosted on www[dot]virusray[dot]com, which was created on the 17th October, 2007. Do not ever download it and be sure you blocked their website with your HOSTS file to avoid accidental infection.

VirusRay is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only VirusRay can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads VirusRay trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, VirusRay offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, VirusRay does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as VirusRay, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install VirusRay, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as VirusRay, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
