How to remove Virus Doctor Freeware?
What is Virus Doctor Freeware?
Virus Doctor Freeware is a new rogue anti-spyware program, a fake spyware remover, which uses intimidation to trick the user into purchasing it’s "licensed version" (despite the name indicating that it’s free). This parasite usually enters the system by using trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, which disguise themselves as Video ActiveX codecs.
Once inside and active Virus Doctor Freeware will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. While this information is likely true, since getting infected with Virus Doctor Freeware requires a certain degree of carelessness, this parasite has neither the ability to detect nor remove them. Much like any other rogue, Virus Doctor Freeware will also try to fool the user by producing falsified system scan reports, and by redirecting the browser to malicious websites, thus making it more annoying and dangerous.
VirusDoctor-Online.com, the home of this parasite, will greet the user with a message that the PC has multiple infections, and that a scan is going to be performed. It is otherwise no different than any other rogue website: no useful content and no contact details.
Virus Doctor Freeware is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.

Virus Doctor Freeware is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Virus Doctor Freeware can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Virus Doctor Freeware trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Virus Doctor Freeware offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Virus Doctor Freeware does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Virus Doctor Freeware, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install Virus Doctor Freeware, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Virus Doctor Freeware, is nearly impossible to remove manually.

I think this “Freeware” SUCKS. I did not want it, do not know where it came from, and can’t seem to get rid of it, no matter what I do. I’ve tried a few different things, and each time I restart my computer, it is back. I am one FRUSTRATED female.
