How to remove System Guard Center?

February 10th, 2009

What is System Guard Center?

System Guard Center is a new rogue anti-spyware program – a fake spyware remover, which uses disinformation to trick the user into purchsing it’s full version. System Guard Center seems to be a clone of System Guard 2009. This parasite typically enters the system by using the infamous trojan Zlob, but has other methods of infection as well, namely, it may come with another malware program, or it may be downloaded from a spam email.

Once inside and active, System Guard Center will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. This information may be true, but only by sheer coincidence – System Guard Center has neither the ability to detect nor remove spyware. Much like any other rogue, System Guard Center will perform fake system scans and hijack the browser, thus creating the danger of additional infections.

System Guard Center is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.
