The “System Alert” popup may appear to be a legitimate Microsoft Windows warning (since it looks like one, and appears above the system tray), but it’s actually a method used by the fake anti-spyware program Extra Antivirus, to trick users into thinking they are infected and therefore in need of the program’s “full version”. The popup reads:

“System alert. malicious applications, which can contain trojans, were found on your PC and need to be immediately removed. Click here to remove these potentially harmful items using Extra Antivirus.”

Do not trust this false information and remove Extra Antivirus immediatelly upon detection.
