How to remove SwiftCleaner?
What is SwiftCleaner?
SwiftCleaner is a new rogue scam – a rogue record cleaner. SwiftCleaner will supposedly help you get rid of your internet records, temporary files, etc., in other words it’s a tool for secretive porn-surfing. The only problem is that SwiftCleaner is completely non-functional and the only thing it removes is money from your bank account, assuming you’re naive enough to buy it. This parasite typically infects the system by using trojans, such as the infamous Zlob.
Once inside and active, SwiftCleaner proceeds to flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, to "inform" him of the existence of a number of "compromising files". The user is also presented with a solution: SwiftCleaner – the most effective tool to ever remove cookies from your system. The scare tactics often work and the user buys the "licensed version", which is quite simply bollocks.
SwiftCleaner.com, the home of this scam, fails so much on so many different levels, that it’s really difficult to actually purchase the program: the content is nonsensical (which probably has something to do with the fact that the website is based in Honduras), the "system scan" finds a compromising file every second (oh, and many of them are "coockies") and there is a whole paragraph the makers of SwiftCleaner forgot to rewrite:
"A TEXT TO CONVINCE A USER OF THE BENEFITS OF BEING A REGISTERED USER
A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user. A text to convince a user of the benefits of being a registered user."
The credibility is overwhelming…
There is, of course, no contact information whatsoever and the payment system is illegitimate.
SwiftCleaner is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block swiftcleaner.com using your HOSTS file.

SwiftCleaner is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only SwiftCleaner can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads SwiftCleaner trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, SwiftCleaner offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, SwiftCleaner does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SwiftCleaner, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install SwiftCleaner, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SwiftCleaner, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
