How to remove Spyware Protection Plus?

February 25th, 2009

What is Spyware Protection Plus?

Spyware Protection Plus is a new rogue anti-spyware program – a fake spyware remover, which uses the infamous trojan Zlob, to enter the system. This is usually done by disguising the trojan as a video codec, which can be found in porn/warez websites. Spyware Protection Plus tries to trick the user into purchasing it’s “full version” by feeding him disinformation.

Once inside and active, Spyware Protection Plus will spam the user with popups and fake system notifications, which mislead the user by saying his system is infected. These claims are backed up by the bogus system scans performed by Spyware Protection Plus. This parasite will also hijack the browser so it will redirect the user to various websites of dubious nature, thus making it even more dangerous and annoying.

Spyware Protection Plus is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.
