How to remove SpyHazard?
What is SpyHazard?
SpyHazard is a rogue anti-spyware program (a program that is supposedly a spyware removal program, but is actually a fake). This scam is not unlike any other rogue anti-spyware scams: it uses scare tactics to make the user to buy the fake full version of the program.
The most common way of infection is via Trojans disguised as video codecs (typically on adult sites). When active on your computer, SpyHazard proceeds to bombard you with pop-ups and fake system notifications telling you that your computer has been infected. The trial version of the program allows you to perform a scan, which generates a falsified and exaggerated report of multiple threats on your system. While your system may or may not be infected, SpyHazard is not the program to tell you that. After the scan report, the program assumes that you are intimidated enough and asks that you purchase the full version of the program to remove the threats. This "full version" is, of course, a fake.
SpyHazard’s homepage looks simple enough and the logo is just funny, but you can still find the usual exaggerations, such as "Authorities State That Over 95% Of PC Systems Worldwide Are Infected With All Forms Of Malware." You will find no contact information, which is a clear give-away of the program’s malicious nature. The website states, that SpyHazard is based in Cyprus, yet the domain is registered in Denmark, which doesn’t give much credibility to the program.
SpyHazard is a scam: do NOT download or buy it, if you have it – remove it and block spyhazard.com using your HOSTS file.

SpyHazard is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only SpyHazard can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads SpyHazard trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, SpyHazard offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, SpyHazard does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SpyHazard, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install SpyHazard, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SpyHazard, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
