How to remove ShieldSafeness?
What is ShieldSafeness?
ShieldSafeness is the latest addition to the notorious WiniGuard family of rogues, which has created a countless number of these scams, including such parasites as Soft Cop, Soft Veteran and Trust Fighter. All these threats have a lot in common: they look the same, except for the name, and they follow the same “plan”. ShieldSafeness typically enters the system by using downloader trojans or drive-by downloads, and relies on misleading information to trick people into purchasing it’s “full version”.
Once inside, ShieldSafeness displays popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. This information is always false and the only reason ShieldSafeness displays them is to create the illusion, that the user’s system is heavily infected. Much like all modern rogues, ShieldSafeness performs fake system scans, which mark harmless files as parasites. Some of these may even be crucial system services. After the scan, ShieldSafeness urges users to purchase it’s “full version” in order to dispose of the threats.
This program is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and remove ShieldSafeness immediatelly upon detection.

ShieldSafeness is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only ShieldSafeness can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads ShieldSafeness trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, ShieldSafeness offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, ShieldSafeness does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as ShieldSafeness, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install ShieldSafeness, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as ShieldSafeness, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
