How to remove Security Central?
What is Security Central?
Security Central might sound like a legitimate security program, what with the cute name and all, but in reality it is nothing more than a fake spyware remover. This parasite uses malicious websites and trojans to enter the system, and it relies on misleading advertising to trick users into purchasing it’s “licensed version”.
Upon entering the system, Security Central will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. This information may be correct (since getting infected by Security Central requires a lot of carelessness in the first place), but Security Central has neither the ability to detect nor remove any of the threats. To further deceive the user, Security Central performs fake system scans, which return results full of false positives. As if all of that is not enough, having this parasite on the system will result in a significant decrease in system performance.
Security Central is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.

Security Central is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Security Central can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Security Central trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Security Central offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Security Central does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Security Central, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install Security Central, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Security Central, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
