How to remove SafePCTool?
What is SafePCTool?
SafePCTool is a rogue performance optimizer, not unlike any other rogue scam roaming the net today. SafePCTool is a clone of AVSystemCare, CleanPCTool and many others. It works exactly the same way, too: SafePCTool enters the system by using trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, and uses scare tactics to convince the user to buy the "licensed version" of the program.
Once inside and active, SafePCTool will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications to inform him of an error or errors on the system. These errors are most likely non-existent, the point of this disinformation is to intimidate the user and as such it is a fairly functional plan. Once the user has been intimidated, the program will prompt him to buy the "licensed version" of SafePCTool.
SafePCTool’s website is completely the same as any of it’s clones’ websites and even uses the same language with the only difference found in the name of the program. There is no contact information to be found and the domain is registered to someone without a name, which doesn’t do too much to improve credibility.
SafePCTool is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block SafePCTool.com using your HOSTS file.

SafePCTool is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only SafePCTool can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads SafePCTool trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, SafePCTool offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, SafePCTool does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SafePCTool, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install SafePCTool, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as SafePCTool, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
