Win 7 Protection 2014 and XP Protection 2014 are the latest rogue antivirus programs that have started attacking computers recently. This Multi-name rogue 2014 belongs to Braviax/FakeRean family that has been attacking thousands of computers for many years already. Thanks to security researcher S!Ri for posting about these new members of this family. The programs pretend to be legitimate security tools that can help you to solve various security related issues. In fact they only imitate functions of antivirus programs instead of performing them in real and try to make some easy money. Here are the names that the rogue uses to infect computers.

WIN 7 NAMES: Win 7 Protection 2014, Win 7 Antivirus 2014

WIN 8 NAMES: Win 8 Protection 2014, Win 8 Antivirus 2014

WIN VISTA NAMES: Vista Protection 2014, Vista Antivirus 2014

WINDOWS XP NAMES: XP Protection 2014, XP Antivirus 2014

The programs are installed to computers using Trojan viruses and once inside they are configured to start automatically when a PC starts. First of all, Multi-name rogue 2014 scans your system for infections and reports about a bunch of infected files. To remove them, it offers purchasing its license and activating the program. It states that this is the only option in order to clean your system from infections. The truth is Multi-name rogue 2014 displays fake scan results. In fact, your system can be absolutely fine but it will still state to find the same threats. The files that are listed in the scan results are either your legitimate programs or they don’t exist on your computer at all. Multi-name rogue 2014 only wants you to believe your system is infected and make you purchase one of its versions to get your money.

What is more, Multi-name rogue 2014 causes tons of fake security notifications and pop up ads which state false information just like the scanner. Some of messages state that a few critical system files of your computer were modified by a malicious program or spyware attempts to steal passwords, etc. In order to block unauthorized modification and remove threats, you are recommended to purchase a full version of Win 7 Protection 2014, Win 8 Antivirus 2014, XP Protection 2014 or similar program. Here are some of the notifications you may receive:
