I think you have assumed that I was promoting Spybot Search and destroy for everyday use. I would never use it for everyday use, exactly for the reasons you stated - However its very useful as a one time install clean up and remove peice of software. Most people that use a pc (95% probably) have no idea where to start when they have multiple infections... And for a free easy to use programme its sound this is why i "promoted its use". Personally I use VISTA 64bit OS, and Norton 2008 internet security, i DONT get spyware, pop ups, malware.... Im not the most articulate of people, and an not a fanboy of spybot - BUT it has its uses.
