How to remove PC Scout?
What is PC Scout?
PC Scout is the new variant of a different rogue anti-spyware program, called Active Security. PC Scout claims to have detected tons of infected files in the system and offers its services for their removal. PC Scout will ask the user to make a payment to install the program and will redirect him to its “official” website. However, this program does not provide any protection to the system. It was created only to mimic legitimate programs and support the scammers.
PC Scout infects PCs with the help of Trojans or other malware. Like many other rogue anti-spywares, this one also imitates scanning actions and claims to have detected various infections on the system. In addition to the scans, PC Scout will also display popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform the user of infections. Messages displayed by PC Scout normally look like this one:
PC Scout detected the virus or the harmful program on your computer!
Internet Explorer is infected with worm Rootkit.Win32.Agent.pp. This worm can harm your computer.
All these security alerts and messages are meant to scare people into buying the “full” version of PC Scout. However, they are all false and should be ignored without any doubt. What is more, the program is known to make computers malfunction, so removing all the files connected to PC Scout is highly recommended.

PC Scout is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only PC Scout can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads PC Scout trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, PC Scout offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, PC Scout does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as PC Scout, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install PC Scout, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as PC Scout, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
