Strongly suggest you visit http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and download their free program. If your computer is infected, you may need to use another computer to do the download, then burn malwarebytes on a CD. Start your infected computer in safe mode (google it if you don't know how). Then turn OFF system restore (again, google if needed). Then install and run Malwarebytes with the internet disconnected. Then reboot in normal mode, restart system restore, and rerun Malwarebytes.

Everyone I know who did the above got rid of that infection.

If you gave these jerks your credit card number, contact your credit card company, have the charge reversed, and cancel the card-- they will send you a new one. You never know what crooks will do with the credit card info. Good luck.

I have ran into this situation before and learned the hard way. I didn't fall for buying it, but I learned how to reformat my computer in the process. I believe if I am not mistaken yahoo online scan will take care of it. Norton is pretty good to but, recently if you have AT&T they switched over to McAfee and it still doesn't get rid of it. I would recommend to have a external hard drive for back up and save all of your important things on it. Last resort use your discs that came with the computer to uninstall then reinstall make sure you have your Regristration key and you might have to call your maker of your computer to get an activation code like I did. Hope that might help you a little.

I apparently picked up this Malware Defender 2009 when I visited some porn sites (naughty me). It scared me by telling me I had viruses, but I didn't sign up for it, I bought Norton which tells me everything is OK, BUT I cannot stop the malware defender from popping up.

I was an puchaser of this product and since I installed, I have had alot of problems!! I am geting annoying advertisements continuosly when going intomy internet browser etc....I am so ashamed that I was scammed and not only lost money, but, my computer s going slow, and I want to gointo MY Computer or other important sites ndI get an error report.
I wish I was more computer savvy, then maybe I wouldn't have made this mistake.
