How to remove LiveAntiSpy?
What is LiveAntiSpy?
LiveAntiSpy is one of the few rogue anti-spyware programs released November 29, 2007. As the name suggests, it masquerades as an anti-spyware tool, when in reality it is nothing more than a simple scam: it tries fooling users into buying the bogus full version by paying anywhere from $30 to $80.
The Live AntiSpy program must be manually downloaded and installed in order to get infected. When you enter the download section of the homepage, you automatically get infected with adware that proceeds to bombard you with pop-ups that say there are multiple threats on your system. The Live Anti Spy scan produces equally menacing results and the threats can supposedly only be removed by purchasing the full version, which is, of course, fake.
After seeing LiveAntiSpy’s homepage it is kind of difficult to believe its legitimacy: it is full of grammar mistakes, such as the French-sounding "maliciouse software" among others. It also presents the world with a bunch of ludicrous claims, e.g. your computer is infected if you’ve downloaded music from the net. There is some content that was copied from another rogue anti-spyware program and there is no contact information, as is usually the case with these scams.
Do NOT download or buy LiveAntiSpy. If you have it – remove it and block liveantispy.com in your host files.

LiveAntiSpy is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only LiveAntiSpy can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads LiveAntiSpy trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, LiveAntiSpy offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, LiveAntiSpy does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as LiveAntiSpy, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install LiveAntiSpy, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as LiveAntiSpy, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
