LionShopper - How to remove

LionShopper is a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Once installed, it will display various coupons, deals and other commercial offers right on your web browser. Even though it is described as a useful and powerful application that will help to save your time and money when shopping online, this is not quite true. First of all, all those deals are displayed as pop-up, pop-under, in-text and banner ads, therefore it is really annoying and disturbing to get them shown every time one surfs the Internet. This definitely will not save your time. Secondly, those ads are usually fake. They mostly appear on e-commerce websites, such as eBay or Amazon and offer you to purchase some particular goods at a better price rate. It’s just a trick to win your attention and make you click on the ads. However, we do not recommend to do this, because if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to third parties’ website that may be infected by cyber criminals, such as hackers and scammers and cause some sort of harm to your computer. As you can see, LionShopper add-on is completely free for users, that means it gets paid from other sources. Various third parties pay LionShopper for the opportunity to promote their products on this advertising network. If you have this malicious application installed on your computer, cyber criminals can reach you right on your web browser on a daily basis. And that’s not the only unwanted attribute of this application. The biggest problem is not those annoying ads (because you can put up with it) but other problems that can happen to you due to this LionShopper add-on. You can easily get infected with another malware or virus due to it. For instance, when you click on any of those advertisements or on some links displayed by LionShopper, you get redirected to third parties and that’s how you get infected.

Please, take a look at their official website at http://lionshopper.info/index.htm. As you can see, there is no download button there. That’s because it is distributed bundled with other free applications (we’ll get to that point later). Also, there is no valid contact information and that’s a bad sign, because if something bad happens to your computer or your private files due to this application, no one will hold the responsibility for that. Take a look at their privacy policy. Here are some interesting facts about data collection:

LionShopper

This means that your personal information, such as browsing history, search queries, top visited sites, IP or email address will be collected and transferred to third parties. They make adjustments to their ads according to the given data. Make it more interesting and relevant to you this way. The main goal of LionShopper adware is to make you click on those ads, because they get paid for that. They generate web traffic and collect sales leads. That’s why they try to make those ads look very attractive.

As we have mentioned before, LionShopper is travelling bundled with other free applications, such as PDF generators, various media players and so on. So if you want to avoid getting infected with this malicious application, avoid installing freebies from suspiciously looking websites. If you have no other choice, be very attentive during the installation. Do not skip any steps (don’t just click “next” and “agree” all the time before reading the whole thing first) and opt out for a custom or advanced install mode if possible. This will allow you to see all available options. Read all terms and conditions as well. If you see that some additional software is being installed that you are not aware of – do not allow it as it can possibly be another adware or any other malware. If it is too late and your computer is already infected, you should remove LionShopper right now. To do that, we recommend you to download a trustworthy anti-malware, such as Spyhunter, Malwarebytes or StopZilla. Just scan your PC with one of those anti-malware and it will automatically detect and delete the threat. It will also protect your computer from similar infections in the future. In case you don’t want to download any additional software to complete this, you can do it manually as well. Simply follow our step-by-step LionShopper removal guide given below.
