iSoft Online Search is a browser hijacker that gets into random computer systems and causes lots of annoying activities including redirects and other unwanted actions. The program is added to your browser while you are downloading some other programs. This way computer users is doesn’t always notice that some extra applications are being downloaded. Usually, you can cancel downloading iSoft Online Search and similar applications if you deselect this option when installing something else. Once iSoft Online Search gets inside, it modifies some of your browser settings. The program changes your homepage to isoft.us without your permission. Each time you open a new tab this website will appear as well. Your searches will be modified including tons of sponsored websites. You will be risking to click on some infected links and be redirected to compromised websites. iSoft Online Search significantly increases the chances of getting infected.

The main goal of this program is to gain more traffic to its website and track your online activity. Later, this information is sent to the remote server where it is used for marketing purposes. As you see, iSoft Online Search is not a program to trust. It will become very irritating and disturb all your activities on the Internet posing risk of being serious infected. Remove iSoft Online Search from your system with no hesitations. Go to to Start -> Control Panel, click on “Uninstall Program” on Programs area. Look for anything related to iSoft Online Search on a list of programs and click of Uninstall/Change button next to it. Depending on what browser you are using, follow the instructions below:

For IE:

  • Open IE and go to ‘Tools‘ → ”Manage Add-ons’.
  • Choose ‘Toolbars and Extensions’ and uninstall everything related to iSoft Online Search from the list.
  • Choose ‘Search Providers’ → choose the search engine you used before and make it your default search provider. Additionally, select ‘Web Search’, click ‘Disable suggestions’ to disable it.
  • Go ‘Tools’ → ‘Internet Options’ and select ‘General’ tab. Click ‘Use default’ or enter your own website name, google.com or other. Finally, click ‘OK’ to save the changes.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  • Open Mozilla Firefox, go ‘Tools’ → ‘Add-ons’.
  • Choose ‘Extensions’ → iSoft Online Search and click ‘Uninstall’.
  • Go ‘Tools’ → ‘Options’. Finally, reset the startup homepage or change it to google.com.

For Google Chrome:

  • Click on the icon ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’, select ‘Options’.
  • Choose ‘Basic’ Options and change Google Chrome homepage to google.com or any other browser and then click the ‘Manage search engines…’ button.
  • Choose ‘Google’ and make it your default search engine.

Finally, run a full system scan using a reputable antispyware program, for example, Spyhunter. Don’t forget upgrading it to its latest version before performing system scan. If you choose using any other antivirus program, make sure it can detect and remove adware and browser hijackers as well.
