How to remove Home Antivirus 2010?
What is Home Antivirus 2010?
Home Antivirus 2010 is a fake anti-virus program – a fake virus remover, which uses the trojan Vundo to enter the system. This parasite relies on misleading advertising to trick the user into purchasing the full version of Home Antivirus 2010.
Upon entering the system, Home Antivirus 2010 will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. While this information may coincidentally be true, Home Antivirus 2010 has neither the ability to detect nor remove spyware and it’s advice should therefore be ignored. Much like any other rogue, Home Antivirus 2010 will perform fake system scans, which produce greatly exaggerated results, oftentimes containing false positives.
Home Antivirus 2010 is promoted on the following websites:
home-antivirus-2010.com
homeanti-virus2010.com
home-anti-virus2010.com
home-anti-virus-2010.com
homeanti-virus-2010.com

homeav2010.com
Home-av2010.com
Basically, it’s the same website with different domain names. It is hosted in the United States, but the owner of this website is Aleksandr Petrov (this name and surname can be fictitious) from Russia. The fake website is designed to look legitimately and similar to Microsoft Corp. websites. There are many misspelled words on this website. For example: “Protect your Windows OC”. What does OC stand for? It should be “PC” not “OC”. The website was supposedly created in 1999, but the domain names listed above were bough this year. What is more, Home Antivirus 2010 is advertised as the best product of the year 2006 and ostensibly has good reviews form reputable websites like PC Magazine or PC World.
Home Antivirus 2010 is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.

Home Antivirus 2010 is classified as Rogue Anti-Spyware. After infecting a user’s system, it proceeds to scare its victim into buying the “product” by displaying fake security messages, stating that your computer is infected with spyware and only Home Antivirus 2010 can help you to remove it after you download the trial version. As soon as the victim downloads Home Antivirus 2010 trial version, it pretends to scan your computer and shows a grossly exaggerated amount of non-existent errors. Then, Home Antivirus 2010 offers to buy the full version to fix these false errors. If the user agrees, Home Antivirus 2010 does not only fix the errors, but it also takes the user’s money and may even install additional spyware into the victim’s computer.
Some Rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Home Antivirus 2010, may offer users to buy it after the victim clicks on a banner or a pop-up while surfing the internet. Usually, a Trojan is installed to a victim’s computer after clicking on the advertisement. It then proceeds to download or even install Home Antivirus 2010, which is another way for Rogue Anti-Spyware to spread itself.
Most of rogue Anti-Spyware, such as Home Antivirus 2010, is nearly impossible to remove manually.
