Gamevance

Gamevance is known as gaming software, which is free.  However, this software is paid for by advertising and the computer will load not only games but ads as well. These Gamevance ads are known to set on the left-hand corner of the screen. They are displayed depending on websites you browse, though they do not store users browsing history.

At the moment of tests, Gamevance is detected as parasite by such security programs like NOD32 Antivirus, SpywareHunter, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Microsoft  Threat center. Gamevance does not install other programs and is not a big security and privacy risk as it does not store users browsing history and it has eTrust certificate.

I would recommend unistalling Gamevance if someone (like your kids) installed it on your PC without your consent or if you have problems with ads. Furthermore, it is against their terms and conditions to create account if you are under 18. Gamevance uninstalls normaly using control panel add/remove function.

I have tried several ways to uninstall Gamevance and it will not allow me to uninstall. Is it because I have windows Vista? Do you have any sugestions as to how I can get rid of this horrible program?

It should uninstall normally, Linda. If not, try one of above listed spyware removal programs or Revo Uninstaller.

I don’t think I have gamevance, but its pop ups keep being displayed. I have tried running AVG anti virus countless times. It keeps detecting things and removing them, but there’s always more. How do I get rid of all the spyware. is it worm?

Nick : Try using revo uninstaller or Spybot S&D. However, there might be an adware that promotes gamevance (maybe affiliates). I would contact gamewance support and complain hell of them – it is illegal and they would be listed again as malware if they allow such behaviour.
Also, do not use AVG (free version). Get its paid version, or if you want a free antivirus get AVAST or AVIRA. AVG does not provides rootkit protection in free version, and that might lead to serious infections.

I have uninstalled Gamevance, but it still is coming up as an unwanted program with McAfee. What else do I have to uninstall so McAffe doesn’t pick it up?

There might be something left in registry and in C:\Program Files, also in your user directory, App Data subfolder. Typical uninstalers leave user-specific settings by default. I would allow mcaffee to clean them out.

Gamevance uninstalls normaly using control panel add/remove function… but i see some of you still have some problems, that could be solved easily. Just download official removal tool: http://www.gamevance.com/deactivate.php. This method is checked and it works well.

Well, I just found out a way to lose gamevance32 and its contents, even though it doesn’t delete gamevancelib32.dll, it doesn’t need to do, gamevancelib32.dll hasn’t done anything bad yet to my computer. But these are the easy steps. If it doesn’t work, then that will be strange, because it just worked.

    1. In the program files folders, locate Gamevance, then enter it and copy the contents to your documents folder.
    2. Open up task manager and go to processes, then locate “gamevance32.exe” DELETE THE PROCESS.
    3. Then go to documents folder, and delete them all. Once deleted, go to recycle bin and empty it.
4.Then go back to program files, and delete all files, it will leave gamevancelib32.dll there, but will delete the other files. And there you go, 4 easy steps to do this. If you don’t want the gamevancelib32.dll still, then follow the steps provided by other users. Trust me this works.

Trever is correct as well, but i had an issue where mine would not delete because it was still running. the program is running at all times in the background so it dont delete. So what you do is shut down your computer then start it up as it is starting either his esc or f8 one of the two should bring u to a black screen and you want to start in safe mode. While it starts in safe mode it will load pretty quickly. So then in safe mode, go to my computer; local c (drive); progam files(x86), or whatever it located in, then find the gamevance folder hit shift+delete, and this should remove it as well as not putting it in recycle bin. I hope this helped more!
