About FindingDiscounts adware

FindingDiscounts works as a browser add-on that can be added to all most popular web browsers, including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and even Safari. Even though it should help you save your time and money when shopping online, it won’t save any of it. Vice versa, you can lose your money and waste your time due to this adware.

FindingDiscounts will flood your web browsers with various advertisements in all kinds of forms, such as contextual, pop-up, pop-under, in-text or banner ads. A new tab or even window with an advertisement can be opened on your web browser as well.

Those advertisements are really tricky. Usually they appear on e-commerce websites, such as eBay or Amazon and offer you to purchase some particular goods or services at a very appealing price rate. However, we don’t recommend clicking on any of them because if you do so, you will be immediately redirected to other websites that may be owned by cyber criminals. This way your computer can get infected or you can even get scammed. That’s why this application is really dangerous.

It’s like advertising network for cyber criminals – since they can’t promote their products on legitimate advertising networks like Google and Facebook ads, they use adware like this to seek new victims. This being said, if you keep FindingDiscounts installed on your computer, cyber criminals can reach you right on your web browser on a daily basis. If that’s not enough, FindingDiscounts will collect your personal information, such as browsing history, search queries, most visited sites or even your IP and email addresses. The third parties adjust those advertisements according to the collected data and make them even more relevant and attractive to you this way, so chances that you will click on one of those ads rise. And that’s the main goal of FindingDiscounts because its owners get paid for every click you make.

Distribution Methods of FindingDiscounts adware

You can get infected with FindingDiscounts by downloading and installing free software from the Internet. When you download and install small and insignificant applications from unreliable websites, there is a chance that FindingDiscounts will be downloaded and installed alongside without even warning you about that. To avoid this happening, pay a close attention to the installation process of freebies.

You should always be very attentive when running the installation wizard. Look for various check boxes because they can be already selected for you. If it means that you approve installation of some additional software that you are not aware of – uncheck it. Read all terms and conditions as well. Don’t skip any steps because you can miss some really important information. In case it’s too late and your computer is already infected, wait no more and take needed actions to get rid of this malware.
